About this property
Experience Hannibal, MO from this historic home built in 1844
Wake up and take your coffee out to relax on the same veranda that Molly Brown (the “Unsinkable”) enjoyed when visiting her sister while watching the mighty Mississippi roll by. Built in 1844 by the first Judge in the territory, , Molly was headed to this house when the Titanic sank. Enjoy the original hardwood floors in the dining room, marked by embers of fires used to cook countless family meals under the hearth. Walk to all the downtown attractions, nightlife and festivals.
I am available from 8 am through around 9 pm 7 days a week. I do my best to respond within minutes. Occasionally, it takes longer.
While the downtown area is within walking distance of the home, the home sits uphill from the shops. Walking downtown is easy enough, but you might regret the decision while going uphill on the return trip. :-)
The entire property is for your use.
This historic home includes 2 bedrooms upstairs, one in the basement and a pull-out couch in the living room. The couch is the only bed on the main floor. There is a full kitchen with basic tools and supplies and a dining room. One full bath including a tub/shower upstairs and one half bath on the main level. You will love the outdoor spaces - two covered porches with loveseats and a table and chair set for dining. The home is only a few blocks up the hill from downtown - an easy walk unless you have health or mobility issues. Downtown has lots of parking!
Enjoy the original hardwood floors in the dining room, marked by embers of fires used to cook countless family meals above the hearth. Walk to all the downtown attractions, nightlife, and festivals. You are close enough to hear the calliope music from the Mark Twain Riverboat! Not a history buff? Enjoy the simplicity of old, coupled with wholly refreshed modern conveniences - ready for extended stays if you are in town for longer periods – a weekend, a month, or more!

Had a wonderful time catching up with friends and enjoying the stay in this home… it was clean, comfortable and had everything needed to enjoy the weekend away…
Beautiful home! Great location! Was perfect for our annual 21 year high school friends trip. Loved sitting on the porch talking and laughing. Thanks for providing such a wonderful atmosphere. Betty G
Beautiful property! The history of the house was very interesting. Great location close to town, very accessible but also a little off the beaten path so it is easy to rest. Great stay!
We came as a group of cousins to a family reunion. The house was a perfect place for rest, relaxing, great conversations, and overall lovely. We all loved our time in the home! Thank you!
Perfect spot for my family and I while I was in town for work. Very convenient to downtown Hannibal. Spacious house, great A/C, Smart TVs (4 the kiddos), great decor, porches are a must to sit on and watch the Mississippi roll by.
This house epitomizes the feel of Hannibal. Mark Twain and Molly Brown are felt throughout the house. We enjoyed being able to walk to the river, the lighthouse and shopping areas. The cleanliness and comfort make it feel like home. We highly recommend you stay here when visiting Hannibal, after all, it was our second stay.
We used Hannibal as a halfway meeting point with friends to hang out, visit, and have fun. The only drawback is one small bathroom to shower. Otherwise, all was GREAT. We knew about the bathroom before we booked soooo....

Wonderful Place to Stay in Downtown Hannibal!!
Thank you to the excellent hosts and others who maintain the property! Molly's Riverview Retreat was a very lovely place to stay for a long weekend with my two sisters. We enjoyed the history of the home along with the modern conveniences (even electric fireplaces in the 2 upstairs bedrooms). The beds were very comfortable, and we appreciated the high-quality bedding and towels. The kitchen was well-stocked, though we only had breakfast and snacks there. We enjoyed sitting outside on on the covered porch also. The whole house was beautifully decorated and thoughtfully put together for guests to have whatever they might need. It was a great experience and we highly recommend this property!
