This pole barn down on the Lake of Egypt has been split in half and beautifully remodeled into the perfect vacation getaway. Sleeps up to 6 comfortably and has all of the comforts of a home away from home. Plenty of room to store your boats for kayaks. Just 3 miles from the town of Creal Springs and a 20 minute drive from the City of Marion.

Great Place Close to Lake Egypt

Very nice and modern place that was walking distance to some friends of ours who have a place on the Lake. Will stay there again if the opportunity presents itself.

Perfect For Us

This spot was perfect for us, as it was extremely close to friends. The space was larger than we expected. Absolutely no complaints from us. We will definitely be back to visit our friends and this will be our "go to" without a doubt.

Spectacular Eclipse

We stayed at this cabin for the April 2024 solar eclipse. Don and Kate were incredibly helpful and accommodating. They allowed us to use their fire pit and yard. The cabin was clean and well-stocked. It’s in a great location on a hill overlooking Lake of Egypt and a quick drive into Marion, IL.

Best Weekend

Kate and Don were the best host ever. They made our weekend special. The locate was just wanted we needed for a quick gat away. If you are looking to get out and have a peace of mind this is the place. Again thank you Kate and Don. You guys are the best.

Last Minute Getaway

We enjoyed our stay overall but a few things to consider more towels. My husband is a firefighter and first thing he noticed was that there wasn't a fire extinguisher or smoke detectors. There's a wasp nest in the grill cover as well.

We had to go elsewhere

I booked this location in February for an August weekend getaway. On the day of travel I hadn't received check-in instructions, but I didn't sweat it too much as check-in was later. By the time I started driving to the location, I still hadn't received check-in instructions even though it was check-in time. I made several unsuccessful attempts to reach the host. After several attempts, I ended up calling VRBO and explaining the situation. VRBO was also unable to reach the host as well. I was very stressed out as six of us had driven three hours to find we had nowhere to stay. We ended up having to book a different place through a different housing site. As we were heading to the new location, the host called apologetically stating they were out of town and had us arriving the following week.
