Details Matter

The Sutherland is a beautiful home in an amazing location. However, it appears that there are a series of minor compounding details that if not addressed will result in a significant reduction in returning rentors. Here are specifically what we experienced: a significant insect infestation on both floors, the primary dishawasher was broke, the microwave stopped working (thankfully on the last full day), the shades in the Master do not work (will not lower), there is no water pressure in one of the Master bathroom sinks, for the second year in a row I had to tighten most of the dining room chairs so the legs did come off, etc. Peace vacation needs a master repair and maintain list by property to ensure an exceptional experience and not just a cleaning routine.

Good

The house is dramatic with gorgeous views but is lacking in a lot of basic things that a luxury property should have. No blinds or drapes to keep sunlight out in the morning, no hooks or towel bars in the bathrooms, most bedrooms had large closets but no drawers to put clothes in.There is a crummy outdoor shower and no hose to spray of sandy chairs and toys. The kitchen was amazing and the pottery beautiful, but there were not enough wine glasses to set the Dining Room table. We had to purchase a broom and dust pan and sponges . It's a beautiful property, but just not that comfortable to live in, especially given the price. We will not rent it again

Super Stay

We had a great vacation! Sutherland is very well appointed; one of the best I've seend. The decor is wonderful! We look forward to going back. A few items: All three icemakers (two on 3rd floor; one on roof) have mold/mildew and need to be thrououghly cleaned with new filters installed. One of the dishwashers is broken. It is super disgusting and smells like something died in it. It needs to be replaced. The central vaccum does not work, including the sweep openings. It appears the kitcehn faucets have water filters. My guess is those should also be replaced. It would be great if the ensuite bathrooms had a towel rack or hooks of some kind. There is no where to put towels, except on the floor or sink area. One of the bedrooms on the 3rd floor would benefit from bedside table or shelf. There is nothing there, no where to put anything.
