We had a really great time here. It's perfect for kids and adults. The view of the pine trees is beautiful, and there's a very nice firepit. We had wonderful weather and we enjoyed sitting in the Adirondack chairs while our kids played on the large tree and tire swing. We left to go see the Rhodededendron trail at Grayson Highlands , which was amazing, but then decided staying at the property and relaxing was the best option!! Very pretty scenery to just relax. Recommend!
This location was perfect for our family’s visit to Grayson Highlands for some hiking, with a hot tub and fire pit to relax at night. The day it rained, we shopped in West Jefferson, a cute town just minutes away. The house itself is a great retreat, with a welcoming decor, a porch perfect for enjoying the breeze and the view, and a patio for dinner outside. Plenty of space for our crew, and the kids loved it!
Clean, comfortable, and private. We had such a nice time exploring the property and nearby areas in Virginia and North Carolina. Thank you for having us!
This is a beautiful property with a very responsive host! We enjoyed stargazing in the hot tub (first time I’ve seen the Milky Way with my bare eyes in quite a while). We made s’mores in the fire pit and my kids enjoyed the tire swing hanging from a spectacular tree. The beds were comfortable and the cabin and its details were very homey. The Christmas trees on the hills made for a special family getaway as did the nature trail and creeks. Great place to stay if you’re going to the Grayson highlands state park to see the wild ponies! We saw 10 and a foal! Thankful we had a chance to stay here.
This house is perfect for our annual family trip, looking for a tree. Its very clean, cozy and off the beaten path. We love Ashe county and look forward to coming again.
It exceeded our expectations, and we wished we could have stayed longer. Our group of 2 families with teens enjoyed roasting s’mores on the campfire, sitting on the porch watching deer early in the morning, and just relaxing on the couch with the big tv. The leaves were beautiful! Hope to visit again!
The property was nicer than we expected. It was very clean and tucked away at the bottom of a Christmas tree farm. We watched deer from the front porch. The house had plenty of room and the beds were very comfortable. We definitely plan to come back next year..
Short weekend to visit a relative. The home was more than we could ask for. Everything was peovided. Our host went above and beyond getting us there. Thank you so much. Will visit again
Old farmhouse in a picturesque setting. No pond to fish in. Some unsightly grading work being done. Steep stairway in house could be difficult for older adult. Water is accumulating in front of the back door entrance. We enjoyed the hot tub and outdoor fire pit. Also enjoyed being close to Grayson Highlands state park.
