About this property

Historic Home in Heart of Oxford, MD

Stay in a historic home built by the railroad when it came to town in 1880 (look for Pennsylvania Railroad memorabilia throughout the house!). Hardwood floors and fireplace with a yard on a quiet street, but in the heart of the historic bay town of Oxford, MD — half a block to the town market, coffee shop, and ice cream store, bookstore, and gift stores, and a block to the water on both sides of the house (enjoy beautiful sunrises & sunsets on the water!). Listed on the Natl. Registry of Historic Places.

The space
Enjoy a screened in front porch, living room with folding bed, dining room, kitchen, half bath and separate sunroom on the first floor, with two bedrooms and a full bathroom upstairs. The kitchen is fully equipped for a wide range of cooking needs. The master bedroom is sunken with a cathedral ceiling and lots of light overlooking the back yard, and the second bedroom has a full size bed with antique wood bed frame. The living room TV includes an Amazon Fire Stick as well as a wide offering of books on the local area, history of the Chesapeake, boating, and wildlife. There is a coffee bar in the dining room for you to enjoy, but with the town market three doors down you might just want to have them make one for you!

Guest access
Guests enjoy the entire house and yard. There is dedicated parking for two vehicles in the driveway.

Check in time is any time after 3 pm, checkout is 11 am (please let us know in advance if you'd like to arrive earlier). Guest will be provided with fresh linens, towels, and toilet paper. Guests are asked to bring their own to toiletries. Given the historic nature of the home sorry no pets.

Cute, Thoughtful, and Comfortable Property That Made For A Wonderful Weekend!
Our group of 4 were here for a wedding in a nearby town and loved our stay! The house is nicely decorated with MD touches. It's an older house but has many modern additions (e.g. strong AC units in each room and power strips with USB plugs) as well as thoughtful ones (e.g. a relaxing shower spray/spritzer or bikes and beach towels you can use). The beds were super comfortable! Matt was very responsive to our needs and although he couldn't help us acquire an iron, his efforts mirrored the general vibe of Oxford, a helpful and welcoming community! Would definitely recommend :)

Oxford Stay
Such a beautiful home in a great location. Everything was an easy walk to: convenient store, coffe shop, ice cream parlor, river/park. We loved that the ferry was at the end of the street to take over to St. Michael’s for the day! Will definitely be back 😊
