Very disappointed
I really do not want to write a review like this, but I have to let others know of our experience. Firstly, the owner/manager is very responsive and friendly. I do appreciate that, but we found two major issues upon checking in. The air in the garage apartment was not working, but we managed to get that working ourselves and were reimbursed for the cord needed to get it going. The second issue was an infestation of German roaches. I would love to believe that this was not known to the owner beforehand, but I cannot possibly imagine how it wasn't. The main house bathroom was crawling with them. On the toilet, the walls, the shower curtain. We found some in the living room and kitchen. We killed roaches all weekend. I was uncomfortable sleeping, as we'd found on on the wall next to my bed. I found a baby trying to hitch a ride home with me as I was loading my car. I hope that I did not bring them along. I was thoroughly grossed out, and I'm really disappointed. Also, upon cleaning up to leave, I found a huge stain on my bedding that was apparently not washed after the last person. I have included pictures.
One of the most comfortable beds I’ve ever slept in! The cottage and garage apartment and charming patio were absolutely perfect for us, our adult son, and our daughter and her fiancé. The nicely appointed kitchen made it easy to accommodate dietary restrictions. Quiet neighborhood was within easy walking or driving distance of everything we wanted to do in Galveston. The hosts have thought of everything. We can’t wait to come back.
Cute place, good location, but older home with older quirks
This was a cute place in a decent location and would have been ok if we did not need all of the rooms we paid for/were promised. There are a lot of beds and they are comfortable not counting the pillows (those are like concrete) but it’s an easy fix to just bring your own. However expect this is a very old home with old house issues like chunks out of the hardwood floors so you have to wear at least socks at all times or risk foot injury. Everything squeaks, doors do not close properly and the bathroom door will not stay closed so exposure is a real issue. The TVs are old, we could not download any tv apps on the bedroom tv and the living room tv is super hard to work with a broken remote. The main bath sink is cracked, several mirrors are cracked, it’s like a huge rager was held there and they didn’t replace everything, even one drape is on backwards in the bedroom. There is no off street parking and if there is anything going on at the school across the street you can’t find a place to park. Also, the listing makes it seem like all of the bedrooms are in the same structure but in reality the house only has 2 rooms and 1 bath. The other rooms and bath are in a converted garage out back. One of the air conditioners did not work our entire stay and we had to cram everyone together in the main house because it was so uncomfortable to stay out there. We asked the owner for help and only received apologies but no resolution. Overall it was “ok”.
We came to Galveston for my daughter’s national dance competition. The house is about 2-3 mins from everything you would probably need to go to.
This is excellent for 2 families, the back garage is a separate efficiency apartment.
I loved the ability to bring the dogs, and especially liked the outdoor shower to give them baths after the beach, without dirtying up the house.
The property is really cute with a great vibe. Good place to hang out after arrival and or fishing trip. Host was very easy to get a hold of to ask a couple of questions. Rented for 3 nights but only stayed the 1st and last night. Location is very central to everything we do in Galveston. Would definitely rent again for our next trip.
This cute little house was perfect for our blended family vacation!! Garage apartment was right out the back door to the house for our kiddos to be able to safely move back and forth between parents. We thoroughly enjoyed hanging out in the backyard hut when we weren’t out enjoying the activities around town. Our family said several times that we would like to book this house every time we come down now! When we needed to get In touch with the host she was very quick to respond and gave her personal number for faster response. We will definitely come back!

Very Disappointed
Cannot believe this property is rated 10/10. Cabana is very old and dilapidated. Rooftop deck was sloped in middle. Husband and son in law deemed unsafe. Dog feces on deck and astrotruf not secure. Exposed nails and screws on cabana and raised flower beds. Not toddler or young child safe. Floors have unevenuneven surfaces. Clean and beds comfortable. Unable to attach pictures.garage.

Not horrible
Nice house and space. The pull out couch was broken in rhe garage apartment. There were small dead and alive roaches in the garage apartment. Told the owner and she replied that there was roach spray(but there wasnt). There wasn't enough bath towels for the number of people staying. There wasn't enough toilet paper either. Not horrible, but not great.
Beds are super comfy! Has everything stocked with kitchen, bathroom, bedroom essentials that you could possibly need & all you need is your own food!! Julie is very nice & responds quickly! Definitely recommend to anyone who has a family. Only thing I would suggest is a handrails for the stairs going in & out of the house/garage apt. My son is blind & had a difficult time going up & down the steps without assistance. Otherwise everyone loved it!
Enjoyed our visit. Loved the courtyard between the buildings. The kids could roam back and forth between grandparents. Great stay and cute safe place to stay
My family and I really enjoyed our stay here. The place was just what we needed. It was clean, well maintained, and has a great location. I will definitely be staying here again.
This was my first time actually booking with Vrbo myself. I must say our stay was very relaxing. House was as pictured. Had one hiccup, but property manager was very nice and addressed issue ASAP. Nothing that made our trip less enjoyable. Back yard was perfect for the little ones or would be nice for adult fun as well. The kids spent most of there day outside in the backyard. Property very well taken care of and clean with everything you need to start a relaxing vacation.
