Practically Home in Buena Vista: Near Town, Hikes, River—Sunset Deck: STR-239
The weather is changing and leaf peeping season is here. If you want to be close to the action in Buena Vista but far enough away to be peaceful, this is the property for you. We just completed some great renovations and now have a spacious 2nd floor deck that can be accessed from the upstairs king bedroom or the backyard. Relax indoors with the TV and high speed Wifi or challenge your group to board game battles. Drink your coffee or wine in the fully fenced back yard with glimpses of the mountains or enjoy some of the yard games we provide. It’s also easy to take the kids to play in the public park only a block away. Mountain bikes, fishing gear or skis will be safe in our garage. Hiking, rafting, mountain biking, rock climbing and fly fishing are close in the summer. In the winter, both Monarch Mountain and Ski Cooper are less than an hour away. The kitchen is well-equipped for those times when you feel like making a meal, or you can walk a mile or drive five minutes to any of our delicious local restaurants. At the end of the day you can always be sure that the beds are cozy and the showers are hot.

I’m so glad you enjoyed all of our updates. We just finished the upstairs bathroom and the upstairs deck. The deck is our favorite place to watch the sunset with a glass of wine. I hope you will come again.
Beautiful home and location. Nicely equipped with kitchen items and laundry. Extras- towels for the hot springs, games, and backyard. We were a short drive to a variety of places that the whole family enjoyed. Great biking trails for the whole family. We couldn’t ask for a better place!

This was a very comfortable and quiet townhouse. The walk to town was lovely along Cottonwood Creek. The neighborhood was quiet with a few walkers out and about.

The house was great. The kitchen had everything I needed and more. The house was close to downtown, close to hikes, and white water rafting! It was an amazing area!

Thanks so much for your review. I’m so glad you enjoyed the kitchen and some of the fun activities in our little valley. Come again soon!
We enjoyed our stay in Buena Vista so much we added an extra night! The house quirky, but takes advantage of the location with a balcony where you can see the mountains as you drinking your morning coffee or stargaze at night. Beds are comfortable, everything is well-labeled and the house is well-decorated. It is a short drive to town and to 3 or 4 fun hiking trails. BV has some fun restaurants. Louie's ice cream is amazing! The owner was quick to respond to questions. We hope to come back soon.

I’m so glad you enjoyed your stay. We love our deck too! As the only 2 story house in the neighborhood, it gives us a great place to drink our morning coffee or end the day with a beautiful sunset and a glass of wine. And Louie’s is one of favorite places too!
This place felt like home away from home to us. It is hard to find KING beds in Buena Vista VRBOs and this one has 2! The handheld shower option was also a big plus! Highly recommend!

I’m so glad you enjoyed the king beds and our newly renovated bathroom. We look forward to hosting you again!
overall a very relaxing stay. House was clean, location good
The only thing we would put forward is that the weather was fantastic and would have liked to spend more time in backyard, but the aesthetics were lacking---not a very pretty back yard with no trees or much vegetation and did not look like a lot of work went into it

I'm sorry you were dissapointed with our back yard. We have a barbecue grill, a table and chairs and a fire pit table. I've also painted a small mural on the fence, so we have tried to make it a nice place to hang out.. True, we don't have grass right now--only rocks and our small flower bed. Come again next year and you will be able to enjoy all of the improvements we are now working on. Thanks for staying with us.
Right went we walked through the door we felt so comfortable to be there! The kitchen had every thing we could need and more! The bathrooms & bedrooms were spotless and clean we wanted for nothing! We would diffidently come back next time!

I’m so glad you felt welcomed. We take pride in how clean we keep the property. Come again soon!
The home was comfortable with enough space for four adults to each have their space. The garage was perfect for sorting wedding supplies for our daughter’s wedding. Location was central, close to town and to all of the families who rented different homes in the area. Worked out well for our needs! Thanks Janna!

I love our location and we pride ourselves on keeping it clean. We are gradually adding more and more things to the kitchen. We have pots, pans, and baking ware as well as dishes, mugs and cutlery, but we would be interested to hear what you feel would make it better.
Best hosts. There was a water heater issue prior to our arrival. The hosts met me at the property and took the time to find us another awesome rental. Highly recommend renting from these lovely folks. Thanks for making it right!!
This home is beautiful, clean, and well-located! Walking distance from hiking trails and many restaurants. We went to main street & downtown BV with no problem.
Our 2 grown sons stayed upstairs with their own rooms. Hubby & I downstairs. Beds were comfortable, everything was very clean. Great to sit outside - back patio has Mountain views. Also a fire pit to sit & visit around.
100% would stay here again!!

I’m so glad you enjoyed your stay. We love to spend the evening by the fire pit as well. Please come again.
This home was just right for a long weekend getaway for two families- including 4 teen boys. The kitchen was well supplied and organized, the beds were comfortable and the bedrooms included room darkening shades. Everything was very clean and the size was just right for us- cozy, but big enough to serve as a home base for BV adventures! The boys enjoyed the board games and played an epic round of monopoly. The hosts were excellent communicators and clearly very thoughtful people. We also appreciated the bag of coffee they left us! Thank you Janna! The only thing that wasn’t clear to me on the listing is that the room with two twin beds (a trundle) is actually a loft space- so no doors/privacy. That was ok for us this time, but could have been an issue in other circumstances. The yard /neighborhood is not the cutest, but it was very quiet, there are string lights and a sweet mural out back, and a gorgeous view of Mt. Princeton from the deck. It was a quick and pleasant walk or bike ride along a creek, across a quiet road and then along a bike path to town. The boys all brought bikes and enjoyed spending time at the pump track and fishing in the Arkansas. We appreciated that they could access those things (as well as a both fly and bike shops) safely on their own. We would definitely recommend this house, and would stay here again.

I’m so glad you and your family enjoyed your stay. Our deck in a fairly recent addition and it’s one of my favorite things about our property. I love to hang out there with my husband with a cup of coffee or a glass of wine. It’s actually a fantastic place to stargaze.
Incredible stay. Deck views are 10/10. Thoughtful touches throughout, especially for families: kids books, outlet covers, cozy blankets, and a well-stocked kitchen. Quiet, great location near downtown and the river. Garage parking and responsive hosts. One of our favorite family stays.
Our family had a nice stay here and the communication was excellent. Thank you.

About the host
Hosted by Janna O'Donnell
We have lived overseas and we've vacationed all over the world, but BV has always appealed to us in a special way. Our family has come regularly in the summer and sometimes at Christmas for over 20 years before we decided to settle here permanantly. BV has so much to offer. We love rafting, fishing and hiking in the summer; leaf peeping in the fall; snowshoeing and snowboarding in the winter, and off-roading in our jeep year around. We're eager to share the BV charm and local adventures with our renters. We hope you have a wonderful visit, and we'll do all we can to make that happen.
