About this property
Amazing ocean views from our ocean front condo. Only steps from the beach.
This is a privately owned condominium located in Pacific Shores Nature Resort in Nanoose Bay just minutes south of Parksville. We are not affected by the BC Short Term Rental Legislation. Our unit is 1800 square feet with open plan design, comfortable furniture and decorated in beige/sand colours in the living/ dining areas and ocean colours (blues/greens) in the bedrooms. We have recently added new stainless steel kitchen appliances and washer and drier. The grounds are lush and well maintained and overlook the sparkling waters of Craig Bay. We have the most incredible views of the majestic snow-capped inland mountains, and glorious breathtaking sunsets over the bay. You can walk through the gardens of Pacific Shores, or go down to the beach to climb rocks and find shells. You can walk or drive to the golden sands of nearby Rathtrevor Beach where the tide goes out almost the full depth of the bay and provides an incredible sandy playground for kids and adults alike. When you walk the beach early in the morning, the peace and tranquility experienced are refreshing and rejuvenating. You can collect shells, see jellyfish, whales, seals, bald eagles - an incredible variety of wildlife. You can enjoy sweeping views of Georgia Strait and watch the occasional cruise ship sail by. Parksville and Qualicum Beach are a short drive away and offer shopping, restaurants, galleries, hiking/walking trails, beaches etc. Our condo is about 30 minutes from Cathedral Grove Forest, Little Qualicum Falls, and Coombs (with the goats on the roof!). Victoria is a 2 hour drive south. Tofino and the Pacific Rim are a 2 hour drive west. We have owned this condo for over twenty years because we love the area - its outdoor activities such as kayaking, beach-walking, hiking, and golfing (there are several outstanding golf courses nearby, and mini-golf for the kids!) but mainly for its beauty (which I have tried to capture in my photographs and paintings displayed in our unit). It truly is a magical experience to spend time in this wonderful location. The resort facilities including indoor pool, hot tubs, pickle board courts and kayaks are included to renters at no additional cost. The resort also includes an excellent restaurant and spa.

About the host
Hosted by Ken and Ann Foster
I am a grandma, an artist, a hiker and a golfer. My husband and I live in Alberta but visit Vancouver Island as often as we can to escape our harsh climate. Our children and grandchildren share our love of the island and all it offers in terms of its natural beauty and its outdoor activities.
Why they chose this property
We have always loved the island's lush vegetation, the ocean, the beaches and the golf courses, as well as the mild climate (compared with Alberta). The view from our condo is breathtaking - ocean, mountains and sunsets - that's why we bought a property in this location.
What makes this property unique
We enjoy easy access to the beach for long walks in the morning when the tide is out and the air is crisp; golf courses close by; quaint towns to explore a short drive away; & the historic city of Nanaimo 20 minutes away with its naval history, its galleries and its shopping. Closer to home, in our resort, we have lovely grounds to walk in with ever-changing colours as the different perennials come into bloom. But the most unique aspect of our property is the stunning display of colours that fill the sky at sunset. This property is located in an artist's and nature-lover's paradise.
