We have stayed at the Airport House twice. It is exactly as advertised very roomy and comfortable, the kitchen is well stocked. We have never turned the tv on - we either watch the wildlife at the feeders or sit on the screened porch and watch the deer. It's very peaceful. Don't let the airport scare you off - it's interesting to see - not loud and distracting. Nick and Dinah are excellent hosts!

Great getaway stay

The home was very clean and is well-maintained. The location is perfect for a quiet getaway just a few minutes to get downtown and to several popular locations. We will definitely book again on our next trip.

An outstanding stay at a very nice and clean house. Everything was just perfect including the location. The hosts were extremely friendly and provided info for some attractions in the area we would have easily overlooked. The location was out of the way and very quiet, which was just what we needed. All of us look forward to visiting again, hopefully for a longer stay next time. What a great time to build family memories!

Great place to spend a weekend

Nice and calm place. Had a wonderful stay. Owners were friendly and helpful. Love the airplane theme decor in the house. Kids got goodie bags of plane toys which was a surprise. Thank you for all the comforts during the stay. Highly recommended to stay at this place.

Above and beyond

Absolutely amazing stay. Great communication with the property managers, who were incredibly gracious to our children. Beautiful home and facility. Great location relative to local area sites (hiking, winery, etc). My four year old was already asking about going back.

We had such a wonderful weekend at the Airport House! Nick greeted us and was so helpful and friendly. We could tell he really takes pride in their house and making sure their guests are comfortable and have everything they need. The house was so nice and clean and the area is so peaceful. It was neat to see the airport right across the street and even see a few planes take off one morning. This was one of the best rentals we have ever been to, house wise and host wise. We 100% recommend it and definitely hope to be able to come back again soon!

Nice place

Our reason to stay in the area was to go to Hocking Hills to hike and explore for a couple of days. This house is about 20 minutes from the park. We made breakfast in the well equipped kitchen. The owners were great, communicated right away when I asked questions prior to our arrival. Nick came over that night to ask if everything was as promised, gave info on the area and said that we could call anytime if we needed anything.

The house was OK. The beds were clean. There were dirty dishes put away, especially the silverware. The dishwasher was dirty. It is listed as a four bedroom home sleeping eight which is not true. There are three beds and a cot. A pull out Couch in the living room is not considered a bedroom. We did contact the host on VRBO message and did not get a response.

About the host

Hosted by Nick or Dinah Rupert

Host profile image
Nick and Dinah are actively enjoying retirement. Nick has yearly hosted, literally thousands of local folks as well as people from all over the USA and parts unknown. He, with a bit of help, puts on Ohio’s largest *FREE* Air Show. At our little airport Air Show we’ve had everything from World Renowned Pilots (and their Aircraft) Wing Walkers and Flying Lawnmowers! He hasn’t missed but two years of putting on this Show, once was 9-11 and the other during Covid.
We love hosting our guests at Airport House and take pride in trying to make their stay with us perfect.

Why they chose this property

The scenery here is 99.9% quiet with the exception of the yearly air show in September and a very rare once in a while evening we get the pleasure of the most awesomely HUGE black helicopters come and practice a maneuver or two. I won’t say where they come from, who they are or why we’re so lucky to be the ‘spot’ but for me, it’s AWESOME!

What makes this property unique

Airport House is situated 9 miles from all Hocking Hills State Park, 8 Miles from Lake Hope State Park. (Lake Hope is the Second Largest State Park in Ohio). We are also Dead Center in Wayne National Forest.
How’s that for Scenery!
