Lovely stay
We arrived late at night and we’re pleasantly surprised by the view we woke up to. The Spot had just about everything we needed, coffee pot, air fryer, toaster, mini fridge, dishes and cups, sugar and coffee! The list can go on and on. It was a nice space, we didn’t realize The Spot was an extension of the family’s new garage and really quite close to their house. We didn’t mind being that close, but wasn’t expecting it based on pictures. Very affordable and very clean. The building seemed pretty much brand new.

Bar Harbor Getaway
The Spot was fantastic. Karla thought of everything that we may have forgotten to bring ourselves. Everything was very well thought out. Very friendly hosts as we had a nice friendly chat upon arrival. Very quiet area and secluded which was perfect for us. You literally stare into the bay from your bedroom view which is beautiful. We would absolutely stay here again if we come back. Thanks Karla!

Quick stay in Franklin
We appreciated a clean and easy place to stay as we made our way closer to the Bar Harbor airport. The Spot was very clean and attractively decorated. The view was nice and seeing the sunrise out the shower window was a nice part of the early morning we had. Thank you Carla and Joey for your hospitality and sharing your property with us on what was likely a busy day for you both!

Great place to relax and to explore nearby Acadia
Wonderful and peaceful location. Appreciated that coffee and creamer, water bottles, granola bars and microwave popcorn were provided. We explored the park during the day and then were able to relax on the patio in the evening. The studio is quiet spacious as is the bathroom. They have put a lot of thought and care into the place. They also provided waterproof maps that you can take on your hike which was helpful. Looking forward to rebooking again next year.

Originally, I am from southern California however I spent several years of my childhood growing up in Ogunquit/Wells Maine with my mother and sister. After many years fighting traffic and wildfires in California, we decided to move back to Maine! Maine has always been my second home with roots that run deep here along the rocky coast. I love the ocean and the sound of the crashing waves and the beauty of all four seasons. Maine had everything we were looking for to continue to raise our family. For many years, I worked in sales in Califonia. I love working with people and learning about their life experiences. As I grew into an entrepreneur, I moved into the Massage Therapy field and had a successful, rewarding carrer as a MT working in a variety of luxury spas to the medical profession in a Physical Therapy office. I also maitained my own clientel on repeat and referrals basis. My favorite activities are snowboarding, hiking, reading, designing, swimming, yoga, traveling to new places. I lived in Costa Rica after finishing massage school for a few months as well! I love coffee. I love my family! I love being a host because I love to travel and see new places so I know what its like to travel and be away from my cozy bed. I love being able to help people enjoy their vacations by providing them with the best experience I am able to offer and hopefully make them feel comfortable so they feel more at home. Mi casa su casa!

Why they chose this property

When looking for a home here in Maine, my #1 objective was finding a home with water views. I grew up on the beach in Ogunquit/Moody Beach, Maine and I wanted to recreate that sense of peace with my next home. We found that here. As soon as I stepped onto the back deck of our house, I knew we were "home". This neighborhood is quiet and we have some great neighbors. One of our recently passed neighbors built our home in 1978 for his own daughter. He then went on to build my neighbors house to the right and then a 3rd home down closer to the water for he and his wife in the 1990's. He recently passed away and his home has since sold. I will be forever grateful that he built this house. We also have a small library, a great local Vet's Club, The Trading Post for that last minute dinner item you forgot at the store in town and a gas station. I love that we have no stoplights. I also love that we are just far enough away from the traffic and shopping areas but still close enough to "run into town".

What makes this property unique

When building The Spot, we wanted to showcase the epic views and use that as the focal point of the location. I built this space as a place I would want to stay in. It's not campy. It's definitely a more comfortable, refined, relaxing experience. To wake up every morning from your bed with a scenery that changes every minute, who needs a TV? Most everything revolves around the view of the water just off the stone patio.
