About this property

The Cedar Cabin | Walk to Cashiers Shops & Dining

Summary:

The Cedar Cabin is a comfortable 1BR/1BA home base within walking distance of Cashiers shops and dining. Originally a U.S. Forest Service cabin and thoughtfully renovated in 2021, it is an easy choice for couples or solo travelers who plan to explore the area. Enjoy free parking, Wi‑Fi, air conditioning, a kitchen, and shared access to the lakeside gazebo, communal fire pit, and charcoal grill.

The Space:

The Cedar Cabin is a cozy one-bedroom, one-bath stay with the everyday essentials for a relaxed Cashiers trip. It includes a kitchen, Wi‑Fi, air conditioning, and free on-site parking.

Originally used as a U.S. Forest Service cabin in Waynesville, Cedar was relocated to Cashiers Lake and renovated in 2021. It is now a comfortable, simple place to recharge between days spent dining, shopping, hiking, and exploring the surrounding mountains.

Guest Access:

You’ll have the Cedar Cabin to yourself, along with free on-site parking. Shared outdoor amenities include a lakeside gazebo with bench seating, a communal fire pit, charcoal grill, and outdoor sink/fish-cleaning station.

The Neighborhood:

The cabin is part of Cashiers Lake Cabins, a small cabin community near the heart of Cashiers. Shops, restaurants, coffee, and local favorites are within easy walking distance. Waterfalls, trailheads, scenic drives, Highlands, and other mountain destinations are best reached by car.

Getting Around:

Free parking is available on-site. You can walk to parts of central Cashiers, but a car is recommended for exploring the surrounding mountain area.

Other Things to Note:

The Cedar Cabin is one of several cabins on a compact shared property. You’ll have your own cabin, but neighboring cabins and shared outdoor spaces are nearby. It is a good fit for guests who value a convenient Cashiers location and a comfortable place to return to after exploring; it is not a secluded or highly private mountain property.

Cedar is not pet-friendly. But if you have a dog you want to bring we have two other dog-friendly cabins in our community.

Great little cottage.

My firmed and I enjoyed staying in the completely refurbished cottage. At first the idea of staying in the business district seemed strange, but it worked out really well. All was quite and cozy and safe. It was extremely convenient to visit all the offerings of downtown Cashiers. If there is any suggestion we have, it was that the tv should come out of the armoire in the living area so a clothing rod could be installed and the shelves used for clothing storage as well, instead of staring so many beautiful but unnecessary extra throw pillows. Also the cottage could be de-cluttered just a bit as it seemed a bit over decorated with lots of cute bric a brac. All was really cute and the ultra soft throw blankets were so nice on the cool mountain mornings.
