About this property
Birch Cabin | Pet-Friendly Stay at Cashiers Lake
Summary:
The Birch Cabin is a pet-friendly, one-bedroom stay at Cashiers Lake with a peaceful lake view and an easy walk to the shops and restaurants of Cashiers. Thoughtfully restored and finished with antique pieces personally selected by Carol, our decorator, it is a comfortable home base for couples, solo travelers, and guests bringing a dog along for a mountain getaway.
The Space:
The Birch Cabin is a cozy 1BR/1BA cabin designed for up to two guests. Inside, you’ll find a queen bedroom, kitchen, Wi‑Fi, air conditioning, and the everyday essentials for a relaxed stay in the mountains.
Birch began its life as a U.S. Forest Service cabin in Waynesville before being moved to Cashiers Lake and renovated in 2021. Today, its updated interior is balanced with antiques and character-filled details selected specifically for the space.
Pets are welcome at Birch, making it an easy choice for guests who want to bring their dog along to explore Cashiers and the surrounding mountains.
Guest Access:
You’ll have the cabin to yourself, along with free on-site parking. Shared outdoor amenities include a lakeside gazebo with bench seating, a communal fire pit, charcoal grill, and outdoor sink/fish-cleaning station.
The gazebo is a nice place to enjoy a morning coffee, read, or take in the lake view.
The Neighborhood:
The cabin is part of Cashiers Lake Cabins, a small cabin community near the heart of Cashiers. Shops, restaurants, and local favorites are within easy walking distance, while waterfalls, trailheads, scenic drives, and Highlands are best reached by car.
Getting Around:
Free parking is available on-site. You can walk to parts of central Cashiers, but a car is recommended for exploring the surrounding mountain area, including waterfall hikes, scenic overlooks, Highlands, and other nearby destinations.
Other Things to Note:
The Birch Cabin is one of several cabins on a compact shared property. You’ll have your own private cabin, but the cabins are close together and outdoor amenities are shared. It is a great fit for guests who value location, character, and an easy Cashiers stay; it is not a secluded or highly private mountain property.
Dogs are welcome, but please keep pets supervised and follow the house rules and pet policy.
Interaction with Guests:
We respect your privacy, but our local team is available by message if you need anything before or during your stay.
Our prices include all fees. No hidden fees.

Was in town for a wedding. Cabin was only a few minutes’ walk to venue, coffee, pub, shops, local walking trail. Two minor quibbles: plenty TP but could use a box of tissue; and the curtains seemed a bit sheer. I was not comfortable undressing even with them drawn.A nice little cabin - clean, met my needs. Cleaning fee was 99, sleep that in mind when shopping.
