Great casual, no frills destination- the house has plenty of space for 4 adults and 4 teens. Outdoors, when not an SNP or Luray Caverns, we enjoyed smoking a brisket on the Traeger, sitting around the outdoor fire, and the large yard for playing catch. Indoors, we had room to spread out, dine, and play games together.
We went for a friend weekend getaway, had great communication, easy process check in and out, gorgeous views, plenty of room for large groups, family friendly!! Highly recommend, we plan visiting again!
We stayed at this property for three days and had a blast. This place has it all: It is close to the river, mountains, and entertainment centers. There are all kinds of entertainment facilities within the house. The hot tub was a blast. The host is very responsive.
Excellent home for a large family with all ages of children
The pool, board games, and game room/garage were big hits with our kids (ages 6-18). There was plenty of outdoor seating, a dining table large enough for us all to sit around, and (this is unusual for homes we've rented) large enough pots and pans to cook for our crew of 9! Communication with the hostess was excellent. If you plan to kayak, do make sure you have a vehicle that can haul the kayaks to the river; it's not possible to walk there. Overall, we really enjoyed this place and wouldn't hesitate to stay there again.
We chose Shenandoah as a place to gather family that lives in NC, SC, PA and WV. We chose this house because we had activities planned at Massanutten, Bryce resort and Harrisonburg. The house gave us room and comfort. Great outdoor space, lots of cooking options, comfortable beds. We even had a Christmas tree and decorations. Alison is a fantastic communicater and gracious host
Great place to stay with a group of friends. House was big, had a bunch of nice beds and sofas. Ping pong, pool table, and foosball in the basement, all in good working order. Nice yard with plenty of space for yard games, good shade. No problems with the water.

Thank you, Drew!
We are glad you enjoyed your stay with us along with your friends. You're always welcome back!
Location was beautiful, driveway a little tough to navigate due to new stones. Everything inside was clean and neat, plenty of towels. Would have liked to seen more blankets because nights could be a bit chilly. Views were gorgeous. The only real complaint anyone had was that there was only one television- I didn't mind but some of the family wanted their own television. I appreciated the shampoo, conditioner and body wash as I forgot to bring mine. Be warned that anything you want to do is going to be a 30min drive minimum so plan accordingly, but if you're looking for peace and quiet- this is it. My one suggestion, maybe add an air conditioner in the game room for summer - it was quite hot in there and we didn't get much use out of it. Overall it was a great place to stay and I would highly recommend.
We stayed here with our two kids and their grandma. This is a beautiful property with so much to do for the whole family. The pool and hot tub were clean and fun. There are a bunch of games including a ping pong and pool tables, cornhole, and darts which we loved. There was one issue with the refrigerator not working but the host Allison was super responsive and got a technician out very quickly! The house included everything we needed for a 5 day stay. There are also kayaks which were so fun to bring to the river.

Not too bad
When I arrived and did a walk through, the house wasn’t thoroughly cleaned. There was a shirt hanging from the ceiling fan, used tissue on the shelf behind the couch. The floors didn’t look swept or mopped. The bath tub had hair in it, and a bath mat that’s unsanitary when you have multiple people renting the property. The beds were made, the kitchen and dining room area was nice. The house worked for our couples cabin weekend but they could have better prepared the house.

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We truly appreciate hearing about your experience, as it helps us improve. I’m so sorry to hear that the house wasn’t up to our usual standards when you arrived. It sounds like our cleaning crew faced some challenges with the harsh winter weather we’ve had in the area, which made access difficult due to snow and inclement conditions. That said, we take full responsibility for ensuring the property is thoroughly cleaned and ready for every guest, and I apologize that we fell short this time.
We’ve addressed these issues with our cleaning team to ensure it doesn’t happen again—everything from a more detailed checklist for the floors, bathtub, and bath mat to a thorough final walkthrough before guests arrive. The shirt on the ceiling fan was likely an oversight from our cleaning lady’s kids, who may have been with her during a visit, and we’ve made sure that personal items won’t be left behind moving forward.
I’m glad to hear the beds, kitchen, and dining area worked well for your couples’ cabin weekend, and I’d love the chance to welcome you back for a stay that exceeds your expectations. Please feel free to reach out to me directly if you’d like to discuss this further or plan a return visit. Thank you again for your honesty and for choosing our property!
The location is fantastic! It's about 10-15 minutes outside of Luray, and an easy drive to the Swift Run Gap entrance to the National Park.
The house feels isolated and private. There's a huge yard. The space is great, and my kids loved the converted garage game room with pool table and darts. The kitchen is very well supplied! It's a good space for large families, with a big sectional for relaxing and a huge dining table for group meals. Most of the rooms have individual window AC units (one bedroom does not).
The problem we had was with the water supply. The house runs on a well which we didn't know, but learned once the well ran out of water. We used the dishwasher and used the washing machine for a load of towels. We had no idea that the water supply was limited, and after a day of hiking, our family of 6 all needed showers. In the middle of our third night, there was no water coming out of the sinks.
The hosts were very apologetic and brought us large containers of drinking water and eventually refunded us for two nights (we left one night early on our 6 night stay), but if you're planning a longer stay or staying with a larger group, I would ask if they've resolved the water issue.
We would stay here again, as long as they've come up with a solution for the problem we had!

Thank you for your review, Carla! We enjoyed hosting your family, and we are happy that you enjoyed your stay even though there were some issues with the water during your visit. I wanted to inform you that we resolved the issue by adding water cisterns with 800 gallons of water. We also added more games and made improvements to make your stay more comfortable and enjoyable. We will be delighted to have you back again in the Fall.
Great property. Plenty of space for our family. Beautiful views.
