When you're ready for a change a scenery, just a 10 minute drive gets you into the heart of beautiful Mystic Village, where you can take in some more New England charm, and grab a treat at the famous Sift Bake Shop before heading over to the Mystic Seaport and Aquarium. We're right on the border of Rhode Island, so a 10 minute drive in the opposite direction, will bring you into adorable downtown Westerly, where you can enjoy thrift shopping, book browsing, and a cup of Dave's coffee, before heading over to Watch Hill or Misquamicut to soak up some sun and waves on beautiful Rhode Island beaches. Great location for walking to town and the home was lovely, clean and had everything we needed. Host recommendations for meals was spot on and we really enjoyed our stay! Loved the coffee and tea selections and the electric teakettle for my tea making.

Thanks so much, Lynne. I always love to rent to a fellow tea drinker.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The home is lovely, inviting, and comfortable. So close to nearby attractions. It was a great spot to explore the area from.
A great property with everything we needed. The beds were super comfy and the hosts were communicative and kind. We loved the house and were thrilled to be able to walk to the beach in Stonington as well as a small playground near the fishery. Also loved how easy it was to get to downtown Mystic and the aquarium. It was a great stay for our fakily!

Aww, thanks so much, Bonnie. You and your family were perfect guests. I’m so happy you enjoyed your stay. Hope you come again!
Very cute house in perfect walking distance to the borough. My only knocks were that there wasn’t a bathroom on the main floor and there was no AC or any AC units. Would not recommend staying here during the summer months, it was very hot even with the fans provided by the host.

Thank you, Michelle. I’ve updated our property description to ensure guests are clear both bathrooms are on the second floor.
As for air conditioning. We don’t have it, so we don’t list it as an amenity in our property description. Most people inquire about air conditioning before renting if it’s something that’s important to them. Because you acknowledged you did not do that when you booked the property, and because the weather was extraordinarily hot for part of your stay, we offered to send more fans to the house or to give you a partial refund if you wanted to cut your trip short or seek other accommodations. You chose to stay at the house. I am sorry this impacted your stay, but I feel we did everything we could to address your issue, and more.
The home was clean, comfortable and cozy. As a foodie, we found the kitchen well prepped, especially to include a blender and food processor. The walk to town was easy, and the local recommendations, spot on. A delightful home away for a holiday weekend.
We really enjoyed our stay. The location was within walking distance of the Borough, and we enjoyed getting the exercise not using a car all weekend. The house was great, very cozy. It could have been cleaner, but it wasn't that noticeable. The bunk beds were child size, which would have been a problem if the friend who slept there was picky and not athletic, as one is on the floor. It really should be advertised as two bedrooms and a child's room. We were three women who each needed our own bed.Overall, we had a wonderful weekend and would love to stay again if they put a regular twin bed in the bunk room!

Hi Judy,
Thank you. You and your friends were great guests. I do feel it’s important to clarify for future guests that the bunks are not child sized. Both are regular sized twin beds and there is a ladder built into the bed to reach the top bunk. Also, we are sorry you felt the house could have been cleaner. I wish you had mentioned that during your stay, so we could have addressed any issues you had. We are a family that manages and cares for our own vacation home. We have always taken pride in cleaning it ourselves and have appreciated all the positive feedback we’ve gotten from previous guests specifically noting the cleanliness of our house. But it is entirely possible something was overlooked when we were preparing for your stay. We always ask that our guests make us aware of any issues during their stay, and get back to them right away when they do.
The property is in a lovely location and is very homely. Shannon was very responsive and gave some excellent places to visit. Stonington is a great place for a vacation.

Thanks so much Paul. You were wonderful guests and we’d love to have you back any time.
Shannon was a delightful host and her communication was the best. The home was in a great location and had all the needed essentials for our girls getaway. Many hours were spent chatting while at the kitchen table or sitting on the comfy sectional sofa.
