What makes this property unique
Mystic History by Bill Pryor Strategically located between New York and Boston, the Mystic coast is ideal for ship building. The shipyards of Mystic built over 1400 ships between 1784 and 1919. These included small fishing and transport sloops, but also massive trans-oceanic merchant ships and beautiful Clipper Ships like the Andrew Jackson and David Crockett that were noted for their speed as well as their durability and beauty. Sealing, whaling, fishing and merchant shipping were also important to Mystic. The Mystic Seaport Museum in town sits along the river and is a walkable, living museum open every day. www.mysticseaport.org Mystic history, food and culture tours by Bill Pryor: www.mysticrevealed.com
