It was a bit disappointing as far as the cleanliness was concerned. I pulled some hair out of the tub, dental floss left on the floor, used towels in the bathroom upstairs. Not a ton of kitchen supplies if you’re planning on making dinner in. We were not so we didn’t mind. The place was close to everything we wanted to do like Dollywood. The fenced in yard was great for our dogs but the yard had broken glass. The deck was nice but it was a shame that it looked so rickety that we were afraid to sit out there. Nice view from the inside though. It was just ok. If we didn’t have dogs we would have chosen something better. Oh and about the hot tub. The water was green!!
STAY AWAY – Serious Safety and Cleanliness Concerns
SAFETY:•No railing on the upper portion of the patio staircase. One of our small dogs nearly fell off the edge, and my husband caught him just in time.•Decking is unsafe, with exposed nails, broken and missing pickets. Danger to both people and pets.•The TV in the guest bedroom fell off the wall. The screen cracked, drywall came down, and behind it we found rot and bugs. Mounted to mushy drywall with no proper support or studs.CLEANLINESS:•The home was noticeably dirty, with grime and bugs in the door cracks.•While stepping out of the shower, a centipede fell from the ceiling, nearly landing on me. I slipped trying to avoid it while I am six months pregnant. The next day, we found another centipede in the bathroom.•Laundry room is filthy, with bug infestations, exposed insulation, dirty windows, and bags filled with what looked like stained blankets. OWNER’S RESPONSE:NO apology — not for the safety concerns, the near-accident with our puppy, nor for me slipping in the bathroom. Instead, the response was dismissive and rude. I was told bugs are “expected in the mountains”. Also told it was in the listing – its not. Check-in instructions has mention but that comes AFTER booking and payment. The only action taken was sending someone to look at the wall where the TV fell, clearly only concerned about her property, not our safety. She even tried to blame us for the TV falling, suggesting we had pulled on the cord despite the fact it was attached to rotted drywall.

the kitchen was not fully stocked to say the least
It was a nice enough house but not at all suitable for the 6 adults and two toddlers we had.
There was one couch that held 3 people - no blankets only sheets for the pull out bed - luckily we didn't need that bed. Only one thin blanket per bed - luckily we had brought our own.
The kitchen had 3 forks - two knives - no pitcher to make juice - no serving dishes or spoons for the dinner we made - the "cutie" barrel trash can tore the trash bag as we pulled it out - no wine glasses - big plastic cups (one had a hole in the bottom)- no paper napkins or coffee filters - no cutting board -
advertizes that 8 adults can stay - the dining table had 6 chairs - we sat on our cooler - the toilet seat in the upstairs bathroom wasn't fully attached - no place to hang a towel or robe - we repaired the door knob on the bathroom.
And when I called the number I had I got a business voice mail and then 2 days later an email response saying that since I hadn't contacted them through the app they didn't get my message - they need a number you can call if something is amiss
We did appreciate they had mentioned the water smells funky and the house entry was easy.
the stairs into the house are dangerous - they do warn you of that. The hot tub was slimy These folks clearly are working on getting this up to where it will be a good place to stay but they need to focus on making it safe with enough chairs and a usable kitchen

About the host
Hosted by Kota
Hi,
I am a musician who travels often for work and music. This is my personal place that I open to guests when I am not using it. It is not the Hilton. It is not a shiny new build. It is also not priced like the Hilton or a new build. I always have difficulty traveling with my large breed dogs so I have properties in places that I visit often and love to share with other pet owners. Your pet is always welcome here. Just clean up after them please.
Why they chose this property
If you are a traveler with pets, you know that finding pet friendly rentals is difficult. We keep our cabin as pet friendly as possible without all the extra fees. We have a fenced yard and we always try to keep our pricing on the lower end of the area because we are an older cabin.
