Located on the edge of Red River Gorge Geological Area in 20 acres of peaceful woodland and rolling hills, our home is the perfect blend of accessibility and seclusion. Wake up in our quaint English-styled cottage and enjoy the fields and hills, birds at the porch feeders, and all the flowers blooming in the garden all summer long . Enjoy the hot tub! It's just 15 minutes from the Red River Gorge and Natural Bridge State Park and 5 minutes from Stanton for shops and restaurants.
Larkspur Cabin has two covered porches. The front porch with a love seat and two chairs, overlooks a large lawn, fire pit and the riding ring.
The private and secluded side deck has a 4 person hot tub.
In the summer, enjoy the perennial garden with butterfly bushes and roses. Take advantage of the outdoors on beautiful days with a campfire and charcoal grill. There is plenty of private parking space next to the cottage. The cottage is set 300 ft away from the main house (where we live) and 200 feet from Dappled Grey, the other cabin on our property. A barn separates the cabin from the house, adding more privacy and seclusion for our guests. Feel free to hike the gravel road and forest path to make a loop around our 20 acres.
The entirety of Larkspur Cabin is solely for guest use. Guests are also welcome to use the lawn, grill and bonfire area outside the cottage.
Greg and I travel a great deal, but if we are home, we are happy to chat with you if you so desire!

Pets are welcome. Please pay the fee at the time of booking.
There are 2 single beds in the loft space. However, there is little sound insulation between the rooms, making Larkspur ideal for families with children, but not so ideal for two couples.
Please bring charcoal and lighter if you plan to use the grill.
We do not provide wood for the campfire, but you are more than welcome to gather it from our woods around!
Our prices include all fees. No hidden fees.

Very clean, quaint location, and comfortable atmosphere. Communication with owners was easily achieved and they were very helpful. Enjoyed time away! Would recommend to anyone.
Nice, clean well done little cabin on a very peaceful relaxing property. Wish we could have stayed longer. Owners make it very easy to check in/out. Take some carrots or apples for the horses they enjoy the treat. Thanks.

Cabin was okay, inside. Outside needs some landscape done… very grown up.. we had to move rose bush branches to get up the stepsSad it was not as described to us…
Greg and I spent 18 years in India, raising our family of 4 children and establishing Freedom Firm, and organization that rescues minor children from sexual slavery. WWW.freedomfirm.org Today we live and work in Stanton, Ky. In both countries, it is our greatest joy to connect people to the beauty of God's creation. Our cabins are created to bring you rest and relaxation through experiencing the views of forest, hills, and horses.
Why they chose this property
We love nature. We bought the 20 acre Kettlestone Farm because it was so close to town, and yet still had this feeling of seclusion and wilderness. Most of our neighbors have large plots spanning between 5 and 300 acres. Its proximity to the Red River Gorge Geological Area makes us just a short drive to the Natural Bridge State Park, Gorge Underground, a fantastic labyrinth of hiking trails, ATV parks, some great restaurants and host of other incredible activities.
What makes this property unique
Larkspur cabin sits on a ridge, with land sloping steeply down to the main road. With hundreds of trees surrounding us, you can't see the road from our property in the summer. We fenced about 4 acres and I adopted 3 American Mustangs, so we love having space for our beloved horses. The woods, bushes and brambles are thick with all sorts of birds. In the summer the gorgeous garden next to Larkspur attracts lots of bees and butterflies. Sit on the porch with your morning coffee and watch the horses in the field, and enjoy beauty of nature.
