About the host
Hosted by Cheryl Day
Cheryl has lived in Springfield for several years and is a nurse at Mercy Hospital here in town. Originally from Iowa, Cheryl moved to Missouri in 1983 and lived in the Ozark countryside until 2006 when she moved to the 'city' to be closer to her grandkids.
Why they chose this property
Cheryl purchased this property after renting it for a year and falling in love with it. Since she bought the home she has spent years on fixing it up to it's current loving condition. She also added a loft apartment that is very modern in the upstairs space, with a separate entrance.
What makes this property unique
This home was built in 1939 by a well known area builder named Carl Bissman who constructed many of the larger homes on Historic Walnut Street one block south. This year the original hardwood floors were refinished to bring back the shine and feel. The arched front door is a feature not seen on many homes, and also features an archway between the dining and living room. The whole house was recently updated with a new electrical system, high efficient HVAC and water heater, all new lighting, new appliances, and fresh warm paint colors throughout.
