The Tailgate house was a perfect location for our stay. It was close to grocery and other shopping needs yet in a quiet friendly neighborhood with little traffic. We walked in the morning and the evening and there were always others out walking also. Everyone either waved or said hello! It was about a 20 minute drive to Fort Riley which was very convenient for us as we came to welcome our son and his girlfriend back from deployment. We enjoyed sitting out on the decks and the home was very spacious and comfortable. I would definitely recommend this home if you are looking for a place to stay in Manhattan!
We hosted a get together for an upcoming wedding and was the perfect set up! So clean and inviting. The location was great, near all major road ways to get wherever and back super easy.

They home was perfect for our group and we enjoyed the stay. There are a few maintenance items that should be addressed such as broken kitchen drawer and loose bathroom floor tiles. Master shower curtain needs cleaned or replaced. Overall great property and we would consider staying again.
I had a brother who passed away and we have a large family so the house was a great way to stay in Manhattan for the family since there were 9 family members there. It was convienent be able to have a place we could all be together, instead of separate hotel rooms.
The house was exactly what we were looking for. It was close to family and we were able to take family walks. We struggled with all TVs. Since we have small children, we were disappointed with the lack of lock on the gate at the top of the steps and the lack of half a gate one the back porch. Overall, we had a decent stay.
This property was perfect for our trip. The proximity to the KSU stadium was amazing- close enough to walk. The location has an amazing backyard that will keep the young & old entertained. The property is in a quiet neighborhood which was nice. And shopping (grocery store etc) is about a mile away. I would recommend this property to family & friends.

Thanks so much we love this location too! So close to all the good stuff!
We enjoyed the spacious backyard and the quiet neighborhood most of all! The house offered two living room areas to spread out with tvs in them as well as all bedrooms. This was great when we wanted to have our own spaces. We really enjoyed the kitchen stocked with cookware and utensils.
We came to Manhattan, as our son is stationed at Ft Riley. He was pinning Captain. His grandparents, ourselves (his parents) and his aunt and uncle made the trip to witness this.
This location was perfect and close to grocery stores, and amazing places to eat. It was comfortable and clean and fit us nicely.

Enjoyable stay
The house was nice for our stay, our only concern was with communication with the host. We had difficulty with the check in process, getting the wrong code. Eventually we were able to reach them and the issue was corrected.

"We're glad you found the house nice despite the adventure in decoding our secret initiation process! Just kidding! We promise, our communication skills are usually better than a game of thumb-twister. Thanks for your patience and for being such good sports about it!"
Great location. Had a little trouble getting in as we were sent the incorrect code. The outside deck could have been cleaned up a little so you could use it.
The heater was a nice touch.

I will try to start with a couple of positive comments - the living room furniture was comfortable, and the kitchen was tolerable. Beyond that - we were very disappointed. Our overall impression was that the house is intended as a rental for college students, and probably was used for that purpose for many years. But since we are a group of middle-aged women, we were not impressed with shoddy fixtures or the Goodwill furniture and furnishings. This house has the worst bedrooms and bathrooms that i have ever seen in a vacation rental. If the owners intend to continue listing with vrbo they need to invest in a serious remodel, more than just fresh paint on the walls.

Neighborhood reunion
We had a small reunion with 3 couples at the tailgate house. The listing indicated it could sleep up to 10 but I’m not sure how that would be possible. I expected the kitchen to be more stocked than what it was. I felt it was lacking even basic cookware and utensils. (6 forks were available for our group of 8) the one pan that was available, needed to be washed prior to use.Only one garbage bag was left for our use. If you plan to do any cooking in the kitchen at all, you will need to bring everything with you. This house has more TVs than forks. It was located in a quiet neighborhood and its proximity to campus was convenient.

Hhh
Thank you for your review of the Tailgate House and for picking us for your reunion—we’re happy the campus proximity and quiet neighborhood were a hit. We value all feedback, even from fork lady. Just kidding!
Let’s start with the sleeping setup: the house sleeps 10 with beds and couches and pull-outs, all clearly labeled so you know what’s fair game. We offer this mix to keep it affordable, letting grown-ups like you decide what you’re cool crashing on—sharing’s optional, not mandatory. As for the kitchen, six forks for eight? Drama averted if you’d asked—there’s a drawer stuffed with extras right nearby. That being said those things disappear easy and we’re very sorry we didn’t restock the main drawer before hand. That lone pan you mentioned? It’s an old spare, not the star of the show; but I’m starting to think we should just remove the extra.
The single garbage bag gripe threw us—there’s a supply closet loaded with trash bags that could’ve handled your whole weekend’s mess, just a quick “where’s the stash?” away. And the TVs? You hit the nail on the head—more screens than forks, touché we have a lot of TVs.
We will do better next time—no more hunting for basics. We hope the reunion still landed some good times despite the fork saga. Next time, holler; we’ve got you covered (beds, bags, and all).
