Beautiful and Secluded Waterfront Home With 2 Docks on 2.5 acres.
Hideout Heights sits on 2.5 private acres of old Florida riverfront. It's a place where you can fish from your own dock, paddle a kayak into the cypress backwater at sunrise, and watch deer from the screened porch at dusk.
The large dock accommodates boats up to 40+ feet, and four kayaks with gear are yours to use on and off the property. Inside, a fully equipped kitchen, espresso bar, and leather living room make the indoors just as inviting as the beautiful outside.
THE DOCK & WATERFRONT The private dock is the heart of the property. It's large, features a floating dock, and can accommodate boats up to 40+ feet. Boat trailer parking is available on-site. Tie up your boat, cast a line from the dock, or just sit and watch the river move. This is the real Florida that most visitors never find.
KAYAKS & EXPLORATION Four kayaks with paddles and life vests are available for guest use and can be taken off the property. (Explore rainbow river and surrounding springs without having to pay for rental stuff) The rivers, backwaters, and spring systems in this area are world-class. Crystal River is just a short drive away and offers manatee encounters, scalloping, freshwater diving, and some of the most beautiful spring water in the state. Paddle out at sunrise and you'll understand why people fall in love with this part of Florida.
THE HOME — 3 BEDROOMS, 2 BATHROOMS The house is comfortable, well-appointed, and thoughtfully stocked. Everything you need is here. Master Bedroom — Spacious with a king bed, large walk-in closet, and a private en-suite bathroom featuring a walk-in shower, separate toilet area, and his-and-her sinks. Second Bedroom — Generous in size with a king bed, closet, and access to a full bathroom. Third Bedroom — A cozy and flexible space with a twin trundle setup that sleeps two. Perfect for kids, a smaller group, or use as a private workspace. Shares a bathroom with the second bedroom. Extra Sleeping — Two air beds and additional sheets and blankets are available for larger groups. This is a fishing and adventure kind of place, and adventures are better with friends. Reach out if you have questions about sleeping arrangements.
KITCHEN The kitchen is genuinely well-stocked, not just a token effort. Expect spices, condiments, cooking oils, butter, flour, sugar, snacks, non-stick pans, sharp knives, and more.
GRILLING The Weber Q gas grill on the porch handles fish, steaks, and anything else you want to throw on it.
COFFEE and OTHER STUFF There's an espresso bar for your mornings and a bread maker if you're feeling ambitious. If you love to cook, you'll feel right at home.
SCREENED PORCH The screened porch looks out over native Florida woods and is one of the best seats in the house. Watch the sun drop behind the cypress trees, keep an eye out for deer and wildlife, and enjoy a drink at the outdoor bar. It's the kind of porch that turns a one-week trip into a two-week trip.
OUTDOOR DECK & FIRE PIT The large wooden deck off the back of the house is where evenings happen. The fire pit is the natural gathering point after a day on the water. Roast smores, crack a beer, or just enjoy the crackling fire with family.
LIVING ROOM Large leather sofa, two leather recliners, and a wall-mounted HD smart TV on a swivel mount. Comfortable, unpretentious, exactly what you want after a day outdoors.
THE AREA Inglis and the surrounding Nature Coast is one of Florida's great undiscovered stretches. Crystal River, just a short drive away, is famous for its manatee population, freshwater springs, scalloping season, and diving. The Withlacoochee River, Gulf access, and miles of undeveloped coastline and wilderness are all within easy reach. If you fish, paddle, dive, or just love wild places, you'll find more here than you can do in a single trip.

Great stay! Communication with John and Ian were excellent. Place was clean and very well stocked. Really liked the peacefulness and privacy of the property! Definitely wiould stay again.
This was single handedly, the BEST stay our family has had. The house and property were absolutely beautiful. Our hosts, Ian and Jon, were so thoughtful and welcoming. The house was stocked with everything you could think that you might need for a vacation. Highly recommend!
I absolutely loved my stay at this house. The location was wonderful, and the house was beautifully maintained and decorated. There were lots of little extras that made us even more comfortable. I have never stayed at a house that was so well stocked
Hideout Heights is a beautiful property! Our family relaxed, fished and loved the solitude away from city life. Our hosts were great and their home was spotless. Hope to return next year.
We had a great time at Ians house, (despite our having decided to vacation during the coldest week of the year, even in Florida!) This property is quite secluded, private and unique. We loved walking down the winding pier through the cypress knees to the dock situated right on the river. The kitchen is well supplied with all you will need for your comfort. The coffee bar is extravagantly laid out and I even found my favorite sweetener - agave, at the ready. The men enjoyed a great fishing expedition and caught several redfish.Crystal River is nearby; a little enclave with some interesting historic shops and byways to explore. We had a little tip from the owners about a tiny shop that sells ‘adult’ ice cream which is made in the shop. Tasty! In the same shopping center is a restaurant famous for its breakfasts, which we sampled after church on Sunday. The most enchanting moment we had was at 3 Sisters Spring, where we watched the lines of manatees slowly herd their calves further inland to gather into thermally heated crystalline pools.Thank you Ian, for a great getaway.
The house is beautiful, well maintained, and fully stocked. The owner communicated with me prior to ensure my stay was perfect. Very quiet place on the river.
Best rental house I’ve stayed in!!!
The house, property, and boat dock were perfect! We enjoyed everything the house had to offer! The beds were comfortable, the kitchen and pantry were stocked, the wildlife was amazing, and the dock was fantastic! We enjoyed every minute! There’s local restaurants to check out, scalloping was a little more than an hour away, and we couldn’t get enough of the wildlife around the house! We already booked again for next year. Thank you Ian for being a wonderful host!
We had a wonderful stay at Hideout Heights. John communicated well and was very responsive, making sure we had everything we needed. The house and property is as shown in the pictures. The house is very comfortable and was stocked with everything we needed. We enjoyed seeing all kinds of wildlife, especially the deer that would visit every day. Being on the river was a plus and we would spend time relaxing on the dock or sitting on the screened in porch taking in the view. We spent a lot of time exploring the area and surrounding towns with great restaurants, parks and hiking trails. We would definitely stay again.
Beautiful home, perfect for a quiet getaway but close to Crystal Springs and Homassas. Hosts are helpful and responsive. Would highly recommend staying at the Hideout.
