About the host
Hosted by Kim B.
Originally from Wisconsin, I’ve always dreamed of owning a home with a spacious wrap-around front porch. The moment I pulled into this driveway, I knew this was the place for me. I immediately fell in love with the house, the peaceful surroundings, the stunning views, and the overall presence of the property. Watching the exotic trees and vibrant spring flowers bloom seasonally in the gardens has been a real joy. I love gardening and planting new trees and flowers, and I aim to create an experience that evokes the charm of country gentry living. Setting up the house has been a fun and rewarding process, and I’ve enjoyed making it my own. It is my hope that all who stay will experience the same joy.
Why they chose this property
As I drove down the winding road, I passed miles of brown board fences and Civil War-era stone walls, with horses grazing and cattle roaming across endless fields. As I approached the driveway, the Main House emerged atop the hill. I gasped—there it was. The large, traditional Southern home with a wraparound porch was everything I had imagined. I instantly fell in love.
Surrounded by towering Locust, Oak, and Maple trees, the house was nestled in beautifully landscaped gardens. The farm, passed down through generations, felt like it had always belonged to me. The original house had been moved here in 1920, hauled across the street by a team of horses. I could feel the weight of history in the air.
Nestled in Woodford County, the property is perfectly positioned, offering easy access to the City of Versailles and its amenities. I treasure the moonlit nights and the sounds of birds nesting in the nearby trees and bushes. This fall, I’ll be watching cows grazing in the pasture. It’s the perfect blend of home and hobby farm.
What makes this property unique
Fink Farm is the perfect blend of old Kentucky farmhouse charm and the modern conveniences needed for today’s busy, traveling lifestyle. It all begins at the front door, with the stunning wraparound porch that immediately draws you in.
Multiple seating areas allow you to soak in both sunrise and sunset views, while several gardens and winding paths around the property invite you to explore and unwind. There are two firepits to choose from, perfect for stargazing on clear nights when the stars seem so close you could reach out and touch them.
The farm offers a sense of seclusion and peace, with expansive pasture views, complete privacy, and all the comfort you could need. My hope is that your stay here will be one you’ll never forget—and one that will have you eager to return. If you’re anything like me, you’ll find yourself so content that, despite all there is to do, you’ll never want to leave the farm.
