Nestled in the heart of Kentuckys Bluegrass region, The Dew Drop In, newly constructed in 2018, is located on Saxony Farm, a working Thoroughbred horse farm, family-owned and operated for over 50 years. More than just a place to rest your head, guests will experience a home-away-from-home location, & enjoy the peace and quiet of farm life, all within striking distance of downtown Lexington, KY s Bourbon Trail, locally-owned restaurants, shops and numerous family-friendly activities.

We have stayed at a lot of VRBO's and I think this is my new favorite! Waking up to the horses and their foal's just outside our window was breathtaking. The bed was SO comfortable. Rosie was amazing to work with and even brought us homemade bread. Can't wait to go back!

Bourbon Get-Away

Six of us stayed at the Dew Drop Inn for a long weekend of distillery visits and tastings. The cottage was wonderful and we really enjoyed ourselves. We would definitely consider visiting again. The only downside was the wifi was not working very well for most of our stay. The little bit of time some of us were working and/or trying to watch something before bed was a struggle.

Fantastic rental! We were visiting from Northern Virginia and the house made us feel like we were truly immersed in horse country. Our daughters loved walking to see the horses every morning and evening, and we enjoyed sitting outside in the evenings and taking in the peace and beauty of the farm. Everything was clean and tidy and well stocked. Thank you for the cookies, flowers, and breakfast items - what a treat!

This property is stunning! Horse country at its best. Long rolling hills, expansive blue sky, tree lined streets, starry nights and the sound of birds to keep you company. Absolute bliss! Close to bourbon trail and all the fun & entertainment that provides, as well. The owners go out of their way to make the house feel like a home, including fresh flowers, bread, eggs, cookies, cream and OJ! What a delightful experience! Will return and recommend!

Magical Horse Farm

This was one of our favorite rentals. It was so peaceful and private. The house itself is so lovely! When we arrived, we were all just blown away by how amazing the house and surrounding property was. We enjoyed walking the farm as a family and meeting all the horses. Most of them came to the fence to say "hello" and were very friendly. There were about a dozen mares with foals during our stay which was super cool! We will miss all our new horse friends! The sunsets and sunrises are amazing over the green hills dotted with horses all around and birds singing. We are city folk, so our boys enjoyed playing outside on the lawn. Lots of fantastic family bonding time! The farm became a destination for us, we made sure to leave time in our day to enjoy it.

Absolutely Wonderful

We have been to The Dew Drop In at Saxony farms twice and both times our stay was wonderful. The land is beautiful, the house is wonderful, and Rosie is an excellent host! It is a wonderful, quiet, place to get some quality time. It is within driving distance of some excellent restaurants and distilleries. We will be back!

The entire experience was amazing from the gorgeous property to the beautiful home. From the moment we walked in the doors we felt right at home and the host family made sure we had everything we needed to make our stay memorable. The home had fresh flowers and delicious cookies! Thanksgiving in Kentucky

Beautiful home and property, rich with history. Superb location. The owners go out of their way to make visitors welcome, even providing a binder that included listings for local favorite restaurants and the best ice cream in the area, not to mention bringing us freshly homemade cookies. We loved our week spent here and are already planning to return in spring or summer.

They have a deep understanding of the Thoroughbred industry and its people, and a love of the outdoors. Together they own and operate Saxony Farm, maintaining a property that has been in the family name for over 50 years. Together, they closely manage every aspect of Saxony, from the care of the land to ensuring the well-being of horses, and now the delight of their guests at the Dew Drop In.

What was originally the farm office became what is now the Dew Drop In, after its reconstruction in 2018.

What makes this property unique

Travelers will fall in love with this home as it provides the fullest experience of Bluegrass life. While only a short distance from downtown atmospheres, its location on the farm provides an experience on its own. Long pathways lead throughout Saxony, where horses may come to greet you along the way. A complimentary tour of the farm is provided along with your stay at Saxony, where guests are given the opportunity to learn and explore the rich history of this place we call home.
