Once the 'Many Pines' tree nursery, the property became a home in the 1950s and has since been tastefully renovated. A full kitchen, large living space, fireplace, dining area, dedicated workspace and cabin style decor offer a welcoming environment. When you step out the door 2 acres of nature welcome you. There is a large patio where you can relax and spend time with your favorite people in the hot tub or by the fire. Staying here feels like stepping into a simpler past.
One of the best things about this property is its proximity to exploration and attractions. It's an excellent adventure basecamp from which you can head deeper into the mountains and visit Woodland Park or down into Colorado Springs within 10 minutes. Some of the highlights close by:
- Pikes Peak
- Garden of the Gods
- Cheyenne Mountain Zoo
- United States Olympic & Paralympic Museum
- Manitou Incline
- U.S. Air Force Academy
- North Cheyenne Cañon Park
- Glen Eyrie Castle
- Seven Falls
- Hiking Trails
- Mountain Lakes
We fully stock with coffee, tea, seasonings, dishes, soaps, shampoo, conditioner, towels and more. Wi-Fi is provided and the smart TV has a couple paid streaming services logged in and others available.
The living room has an indoor fireplace and plenty of space to cuddle up and read a good book, eat dinner, play games or watch a movie.
The yard on the property has plenty of space for activities and the patio by the creek is a fun common area where you can sit by the fire and listen to the water bubbling and the trees swaying. We generally have extra firewood available stacked near the shed in front of the house. There is a charcoal BBQ you are welcome to use if you bring charcoal even though we don't list it as an amenity.
Whether you're looking for a cozy snowy winter retreat, visiting the mountains to see the fall colors or an adventure filled summer vacation the caboose can make your dreams a reality!

Frequently asked questions
About the host
Hosted by Kimmy
Kimmy and Jesh fell in love on the opposite of the world in Abu Dhabi but both share a lot of the mountains and all things outdoors. Our huge “puppy” Dawg goes everywhere with us and would love to meet you if you are so inclined. If you have questions about anything Jesh has lived in Colorado Springs most of his life and can tell you all the best places to hike, bike, camp or visit
Why they chose this property
We wanted to live next to a year round creek and not feel trapped in a city. This location is nestled in the mountains but still be close to friends/family
What makes this property unique
It's hard to find a place close to all the activities Colorado Springs offers but still be in the mountains with the trees/water. On the property there is a full size Illinois Central Railroad caboose representing the historic railroad that used to run directly past the property 100 years ago
