Thank you so much, Melanie. We really do try to make it super convenient for our guests and appreciate you noticing. Glad the house served your needs for your stay. Come back anytime.
We actually chose this house because of its great location. Near every place we needed. The house itself is very clean and updated very nicely. We were concerned that the street noise would be a problem at night, but it was not a problem at all. Would definitely recommend!!

We loved staying here while visiting family for the Holidays. The house had everything we needed, was beautifully decorated and in walking distance of grocery stores, restaurants and shopping. We can’t wait to come back again next time we visit Jacksonville.

Thanks for this glowing review of our historic home, Kyle. It was our pleasure to host you guys and we are thrilled that you all enjoyed our well-appointed home. Also, thanks for leaving the house in great shape. Please come back again when in Jacksonville.
We absolutely loved our stay in this historic home! It’s beautifully decorated and was perfect for our group trip. The beds were very comfortable, and the extra blankets were a thoughtful touch that kept everyone cozy. We were also impressed by the abundance of hangers—something that always seems to be lacking in other rentals! The kitchen was wonderfully stocked with everything we needed to easily whip up meals. The location couldn’t be better—centrally situated near great restaurants and bars, and just a short, pleasant walk to the parks along the river. Lorraine, the owner, was incredibly responsive and made everything smooth and easy from start to finish. We’re already looking forward to another trip to Jacksonville so we can stay here again. Highly recommend!

Thank you, Heather, for this beautiful review. We were so happy to host you. Furthermore, thank YOU for taking such good care of our historic home and being so responsive also. Take care and we hope to see you all again in the not so distant future.
The house and Lorraine were amazing. It was extremely clean, decorated to feel like “home” and not sterile like many other rentals we’ve had. The attention to detail ensuring you had everything you needed (and then some) was impeccable; it felt more high-end than most rentals. Lorraine was very helpful and responsive- not a single complaint and we will stay again if we’re in Jacksonville! ( Also close to restaurants, grocery and a quick uber to the football stadium).

We came to Jacksonville for a funeral. We could not have had a cleaner and more comfortable place. The owner was thoughtful and responsive. The house was a respite for us during a difficult time.

Lorraine was the most gracious host!! I would stay again in a heartbeat, the space is carefully and beautifully designed, heavenly beds, well appointed kitchens and bathrooms. The house is beautiful, it was even decorated for the holidays. The host did not leave any needs unaddressed. She even checked on us during inclement weather. Would 100% stay here again. Thank you Lorraine!

Thanks, Allison for this lovely review of our historic home. We enjoyed having you guys there and would welcome you back with open arms.
We stayed for 5 nights. Excellent communication with the host before and during stay. Beautifully renovated with high grade finishes, new appliances, etc. Comfortable mattresses and bedding, plush towels, generous supply of toiletries. Kitchen has large pantry stocked for every need, soaps, cleaning supplies, paper supplies. All we could ask for as far as coffee supplies. Loved the porch swing and seating on back porch. Lots of storage. Walk to shops and restaurants. Historic area, near the St. John’s river, walk a quick drive to parks. We will return.

About the host
Hosted by Lorraine Walsh
Originally from Ireland, we have called Jacksonville home for 26 years. We have four kiddos: one just graduated from FSU, one is a senior at FSU, and our third is a Freshman at the Univerity of South Carolina. Our caboose is 12, now in 7th grade. We love the Riverside area of Jacksonville, which reminds us of Ireland with its distinct charm and beauty.
Why they chose this property
As mentioned above, our Irish roots were ignited when we found the Riverside area of Jacksonville. It reminded us so much of our hometowns, and we fell in love with it from the first time we saw it. My husband, Michael is a General Contractor and always wanted to get involved in a restoration project with one of these homes. This is the home he chose.
What makes this property unique
This 1923 home is listed as an historic home. It has proudly been a part of the Riverside Tour of Homes in 2024. Everything about it exudes charm and warmth, and it has been restored with love and respect.
