Utopia River Retreat is a secluded paradise nestled along the Sabinal River in the Texas Hill Country.

Kickapoo is our newest cabin, with views closest to the river. It has natural wood finishes and an over sized tile walk in shower. This spacious 1 bedroom cabin has a king bed and full size sleeper sofa.

Utopia River Retreat is a 12-acre estate where you can relax in one of 9 cozy cabins or the historic home known as the Fortress. Enjoy views of the Sabinal River, centuries-old cypress & oak trees as well as the native wildlife. You will find enchantment with each visit. Our event spaces have played host to weddings, family reunions and numerous other events.

Peaceful stay

This was really nice area and it was very quiet. The cabin was cute and you had a lot of space. There are other cabins there but you have a lot of space separating yours from others. The place was very clean. Had all the amenities needed. Definitely recommend staying there and would stay again.

Good stay, quiet, secluded & serene

We liked the cabin; it was cozy and comfortable. The first 2 nights, we were the only ones in the property, so, it was truly an away-from-it-all vacation. Our pups loved it too and was super thrilled to see deer in the yard in the morning. The river was dried up (in November), but, the trees had turned colors, so, it was nice. This location is perfect if you want to visit Garner State Park and Lost Maples.

Great get away from the city

Myself, partner, and 2 teenage kids love to get away from the city on long weekends to explore small towns and hike gorgeous state parks. This 4th of July was no exception and Utopia River Retreat lived up to its name. A perfectly sized cabin with anything we could need was a perfect home base to our adventures in Hill Country. It was quiet, clean, surrounded by nature, and close to the Frio and Garner State Park. The fireworks we perfect and the sunsets absolutely stunning. Will definitely be back.
I could wake up yo the view from our front door everyday for the rest of my life.
