Solitude sits on 22 beautiful private acres with its own hiking trails—and it borders over 200 additional acres of protected forest through the North Central Ohio Land Conservancy, giving you direct access to wide-open natural beauty. While it feels totally tucked away, you're just minutes from Loudonville's charming shops, restaurants, canoeing, ziplining, go-karts, mini golf, and more. Mohican State Park, Malabar Farm, Snow Trails, and Ohio’s Amish Country are all an easy drive away, offering endless options for day trips and outdoor adventure.
Solitude is just a short drive off a state route, but please note the gravel driveway includes a slight incline. From December 1st to April 1st, we strongly recommend a vehicle with four-wheel drive (4WD) or all-wheel drive (AWD) to ensure safe access—especially during snow or icy conditions. Your safety and comfort are our top priority, so plan accordingly during winter months.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Solitude. We found everything we could possibly need to prepare and cook meals. We loved exploring the property using the many hiking trails, relaxing in the hot tub, and getting cozy by the fire.

Great family gathering space!
This is our fourth year staying at Solitude. This is our Christmas gift to the family. It is clean, well equipped, thoughtfully decorated, and secluded in the woods. There is lots to do in the area, but this year we stayed put and enjoyed the trails, hot tub, fire pit, large table for puzzles and big tv by the fire place to watch the Olympics. Hosts checked in and answered one question quickly. Highly recommend!

Great house for a family get together. Great set up of bedrooms and bathrooms. Beautiful views from the house and a wonderful outdoor fire pit for hanging out.
Solitude was a great place for a weekend trip of multiple families with small children. The listing was accurate, host was responsive, and the back yard fire pit and hot tub were amazing!
a great place to stay with the family. was a lot to do to enjoy ourselves. We had a few issues that were taken care of quickly and professionally even while owners were on vacation they were still able to take care of things

Restful
Great place to relax and visit in camping atmosphere. We stayed in State Park cabins for years but this spacious cabin was more appealing to our growing group.
