You're in a hot tub; you see gardens and hear wind blowing through the pines.
Really a unique place! You really feel like you're way out in the country. Walk down to the river, skip stones on the pond, sit and listen to the birds. Fantastic fireplace, a great kitchen. We have 2 bedrooms. The Master bedroom has a Queen size bed and a sofa bed, the "Library" has a trundle bed with 2 twin beds that can connect or not. In the living room there is a sofa bed that bends back to become a full bed. We also have a few Queen size raised air beds to set up in a large tent or on the porch. For more than 4 guests, the price is $50/ night for each extra guest. 8 guests are a full house!
We love dogs, and have had guests brings their dogs for the last 9 years. But the house always gets torn up, screens ripped, etc. If you want to stay, and have a dog, and you can assure me that your dog won't bark all the time and be quiet, and does not shed, let's talk about it.
Some of the time I stay in my vintage RV at the other end of the property. I value my guests' privacy, so you will not see or hear me, unless you need me! My iPhone is the front desk!

We love the location. Some of the negatives are there was mold in the refrigerator and the barbecue grill was filthy and there was no gas for it.The bedroom by the garage was very damp
The property and experience was perfect for what I was looking for. The house has tremendous character and charm, located in the countryside. 15 min from Cherry Beach, Lake Michigan and near several orchards & farm stands as well as a farm to table restaurant. The town of Three Oaks is 15-20 minutes away and has antique shops, a bourbon distillery, community performance center, and a lot of “artsy” shops. Donna made the booking experience and stay an absolute pleasure. I look forward to visiting again in the future.
We had an amazing stay! The house was very peaceful and had great vibes. I loved sitting in the hot tub and listening to all the sounds of nature. Donna was lovely & it was nice getting to know her. I would definitely stay here again!
Such a beautiful house— great records, beautiful screened in porch, cool art, nice light. A gorgeous and unique place to spend time with your fam or friends. Donna is a great host.
My 2 small girls and I stayed at Donna’s for a long weekend so they could experience true fall. Loved staying at Donna’s from check in to check out she is a lovely, kind person and we look forward to making many more memories at her property. Thank you for such a great experience!

Thank you Michelle!
I still have the girl’s drawings on my fridge!
Hope you come again!❤️
House and property were as described. A lovely property. The house was perfect for two. Lighting for reading needs to be much better. Owner could have provided written information about areas of interest in the surrounding area— hiking, Botanical gardens, restaurants, markets, etc. and more directions for using the TV.

Practically perfect in every way.
Just what we needed. Charming and comfortable place. Wonderful, peaceful setting that's off the beaten path and yet still convenient. Only possible negative would be the well water, but that's entirely to be expected. Loved it. We'll be back, I'm sure!

We loved having you Elliot!
I hope you noticed, read my notes about, and used the reverse osmosis faucet on the kitchen sink for drinking and cooking!!
See ya again!
What a relaxing week! Donna’s such a gracious host and the property is so quiet and peaceful. Out in the country but only a 15 minute drive to Warren Dunes, close to hiking trails, Fernwood Botanical Garden, and other family attractions. The house is very inviting with everything you could ever need in the kitchen and comfortable beds. We spent a ton of time bird watching and playing cards on the screened-in porch. Just a perfect place to unplug and unwind.

Mark and his beautiful family were the greatest guests. I’d love to have them back anytime.
Thanks Mark!❤️
Gorgeous property immersed in nature! The backyard was Eden filled with the sounds of birds and trees swaying in the wind! Had a wonderful time relaxing here- especially time spent chilling on the screened back porch. The hot tub was also a bonus! The house was clean and comfortable. I had a few questions about how to operate the hot tub, and Donna responded immediately. I would definitely return. The location is also perfect - not far form the beaches, restaurants, etc. Loved my time here! Thank you Donna!
I stayed with a group of 6 others at Donna Blue's property and it was an overall great experience. She was super communicative with me and left detailed instructions that were very helpful. The home itself is beautiful and comfortable- the perfect place to escape for a few days. We especially enjoyed the screened porch and garden, as well as the extensive art/music collection. The whole group was appreciative of the coffee stocked for us. We had the pleasure of meeting with Donna Blue and experiencing her calm, welcoming spirit. I would highly recommend a stay here and plan on coming back in the future.

It was so nice to host you all!
I hope we see you back here soon!
Be well!
Sweet little cozy cabin in the tranquil nature. Our host was so very sweet and helpful! She guided us around the property with her cute little dog Freda! There is a river and pond in the far back of the property. We had coffee on the screened in pario every morning and watched the deer and various birds. It is a beautiful and quiet relaxing retreat of a property/home! The rooms were clean and fresh, and amything you needed was available to you. She had the air conditiiner on and waiting for our arrival! Thankyou Donna for a wonderful place to stay!
The home gives a vibe like you have been here before. The home is unique and warm with amazing decorations. The backyard is absolutely gorgeous and extremely open. Once you sit in the back yard it's only you and the sounds of frogs in the pond. You felt as if you found a little bit of paradise with all the lightingbugs flickering in the moonlight. I highly recommend anyone to come in and stay! The owner is very polite and extremely friendly! :)

Probably the most poetic review we’ve ever received.
Thank you Edir!
My husband and I had the most delightful stay in Donna's unique, art-filled home. Each room is filled with pottery, hand-crafted woodwork, original art, colorful tile, and whimsy. We loved finding new treasures each day. The large screen porch became our favorite spot, perfect for reading, bird watching, talking, and just savoring the peace of the surrounding yard and woods.
Donna is delightful. She left us totally alone, only coming over to sit on the porch when we asked her. But once she was there, we three became friends! We shared book titles, solved the world's problems, and then planned the next time we'd come back.
We highly recommend this lovely home to anyone looking for a break from life's fast pace!
Five of us travelled to Michigan for the long Memorial Day weekend. We had activities planned for everyday. We visited the Air Zoo, Warren State Park, Airway fun center and many more. It was wonderful to go out during the day and enjoy everything Michigan had to offer. But, in the evenings we had a wonderful quiet spot to retreat and relax. The property is lined with large trees, flower beds everywhere, a garden, and plenty of wildlife. One day we came home to deer in the front yard and the local birds provided endless entertainment. The house was cozy and relaxed and felt like coming home for the night. We had a wonderful time, Donna was very accessible during our stay. Also, we had a lot of great food while staying here but the Journeyman Distillery nearby, was everyone’s favorite meal during our stay. They had great Detroit style pizza. We loved our green space getaway and Donna was a wonderful host.
Donna, the host, was awesome to communicate with. Before and during our stay. Very friendly and laid back.
We had perfect weather to spend most of the first afternoon just on the screened in porch and that was very relaxing.
Pulling into the driveway, our initial impression was "man, this place could use some yard clean up." But because the front yard shrubbery was a little over grown and there were a few branches on the garage roof (but we did just have some storms within the week of our stay).
Then entering the home through the screened in porch and getting the homie feels, we quickly got over the initial curb appeal. The home was decorated uniquely and very cool.
Thank you for offer up your home to us!
We had an absolutely amazing time. Donna was a fantastic host, and it was truly a delight to meet her. The location is nice, close to everything you'd want to do but far enough away that your time on the property feels relaxing. The pictures don't capture all of the charm and character of the house.
We had a wonderful and relaxing stay at Donna's house. The house and grounds have such a great energy and I would heartily encourage those who need to recharge to book this place for a couple of days. We left a lot of our stay unstructured so we could do what we felt like in the moment, and there was never a time when we were bored. There are books, records, a cozy fireplace and plenty of lovely scenery to fill the day. I'm so thankful to have stayed at such a nice place and have nothing but nice things to say about Donna, who is wonderful. We're already planning our next stay here and can't wait to come back!
Great stay at an amazing place that was exactly the relaxing weekend needed. Close to Three Oaks, Sawyer and only an hour to Virtue Cider. Highly recommend staying there.
The screened in porch is the best attribute because you can enjoy the flora and fauna without bugs. The kitchen was well equipped. Close to Red Arrow Highway with plenty of stuff to do if it rains and it’s not a beach day.
What a relaxing trip at Donna’s property. She has a peaceful, calm and in-nature feel to the house. Just put on a jazz record and watch the birds out back to recharge the soul. We’ll be back
Our trip was great as usual. Donna is a lovely host, and the property is perfect for a tranquil and relaxing break.

About the host
Hosted by Donna Blue Lachman
My name is Donna Blue and I love living out here. I'm from Chicago but found this place in 1986 and fell in love! We added on to the house and planted trees which are now huge-- and the gardens are, well, mature and lovely. After going back and forth from Chicago on weekends I decided to JUST LIVE here,,. which I've been doing for about 20 years. I'm an actor, playwright, teacher and director. I founded and was the Artistic Director of the Blue Rider Theater in Chicago for 14 years. I spent many years of my life traveling to do research for my plays, performed all over the country and abroad and Off- Broadway. I perform at the Acorn Theater, teach drama in schools and hold retreats here on the land. I also have a little theater company I've started out here called, "SECOND WIND" which is for boomers (like me) doing improvisations about our lives, and turning them into plays for the community. GREAT FUN!! I have lived in Haiti, Poland, and trekked in Nepal (to just name a few.) I have been blessed with many people who welcomed me into their homes and treated me wonderfully. Now it's my turn to host and I'm excited to share this beautiful place with others. I do all the gardening and landscaping which I consider a privilege.
Why they chose this property
From the moment I walked on this land I felt it was very special. I knew the Potawatami Indians lived all along the river which borders the western part of the property. Everyone who comes here to visit or vacation tells me they feel the wonderful energy too. I try to keep it going.
What makes this property unique
What most people love about staying here, is that it feels so far away from everything, yet close to great restaurants, theater, cinema and the BEACH!
