This was our 2nd stay at this property. It is clean and comfortable with a nice kitchen if that is important. Check in process is easy with the host checking in with you to see if all is OK. We’re staying again next week!
The unit was conveniently located and the pictures were accurate. Unfortunately, there was a strong musty odor to the unit and the three air fresheners plugged in when we arrived did not make it smell better. Hopefully management can correct the issue.
We found the property very clean and had a well equipped kitchen. The bed was firm, nice bath towels and comfortable furniture in the living room. Although it states it sleeps 4, there is only 1 queen bed and L- shaped couch which could accommodate another person. The only thing I think could improve the property is to update the landscape to make it more inviting. Check-in was easy and accessing the property was easy.
I would definitely recommend staying here. It was very clean. The neighborhood was very pleasant and safe. Our host communicated very well and was great to work with. If you are looking for a place to stay in Ames, this would be a great choice.
Here 9 days for National Senior Games golf. What a great little apartment. Everything we needed. Modern and clean. Housing neighborhood across 13th street was an excellent place to walk. Lovely old homes. Visited downtown Main St, such a cute downtown. Thanks for the wonderful stay!!
The duplex is nice and located in a quiet part of Ames. The home is a bit older, but has some nice updates. If you like a firm mattress, you’ll love the bed! We appreciated being able to bring our dog with us as well.
I was in Ames for a songwriting workshop with a colleague. This 1 BR efficiency Vrbo was perfect for us. Although there were two of us, the property has a lengthy comfortable couch and and air mattress for an extra person. Full kitchen with plates and cookware. Bathroom was clean and stocked with supplies. Not a huge space, but totally fine for a place to sleep comfortably and cook your own food. Easy access to the community, campus, and downtown. Keyless entry/exit and great communication with host, who was easy to work with. Highly recommend.

Looks nicer on screen than in reality
The neighborhood wasn't as expected. There were some iffy characters hanging around. The apartment is very small, and there's no air conditioning vent in the bedroom. The apartment needs a dehumidifier because it smells musty and mildewy. The most aggravating thing is the super loud central air. Also, there were expired cooking oil and some other food items in the kitchen cabinets. Please dispose of them because you don't want your guests to get sick. In addition, please fix the broken kitchen cabinet door.

Pros:Recently refinished Nice interior design Appreciated full kitchen The house looked very clean but didn't smell cleanCons:The house has an odd unpleasant smell. It was so strong that my CPAP still smells like it a week later. The mattress, pillows, and sheets are all very stiff. The mattress crinkles because it's covered in plastic. I ended up sleeping on the couch. Also, the hand soap has a very strong unpleasant smell like potpourri. I had to wash my hands with different soap to get rid of the smell. I reached out to the property manager and property manager's assistant multiple times without reply or just an automatically generated reply message. One of my concerns was about a car being parked in the driveway and me being unable to park at the property. I tried messaging through the app, phone call, text messaging, and got no reply. Property manager did not contact me until after I had already left. I would never stay there again or recommend it to anyone else.
