A brief word about our rates. We keep our base rate low to encourage singles and small groups to enjoy our property, with a sliding scale ($15 per person, per stay for more than two guests) to cover our increasing costs for larger groups. We don’t charge a separate cleaning fee, so this is our method to cover the increased costs of more cleaning, more laundry, more water usage etc., as the size of the group increases. This is all auto-calculated as you enter the number of guests, pets, etc. when you book, so the total you see for your stay will have been adjusted accordingly (also including taxes and fees VRBO charges).
Our prices include all fees. No hidden fees.

About the host
Hosted by Larry & LuAnn Hutson
Lu and I know that where we stay when we travel can dramatically affect how much we enjoy our entire visit. We've learned that having a comfortable, relaxing (and sometimes romantic) place to call our 'home on the road' is as important as choosing what we'll do with our time. We've designed this space with YOUR comfort and relaxation in mind. We also operate a business called 'Used Anew'. Guests can visit our on-site Show Home & Shoppe where we feature multiple ways we repurpose reclaimed materials in every room, AND discover affordable antiques and collectibles throughout. Considering a remodel project back home? You can take your time browsing the Show Home, make selections and have us ship the materials to you!
Why they chose this property
We love the country! It's so peaceful and quiet here in the Big Creek Valley. The views of active farms and majestic wooded hills are spectacular any time of year. We've come home to Wisconsin after more than a decade away. Here, living in the area where I grew up, it feels a little like we're on vacation every day! We decided to share this experience with you, and so we've made this spacious home for you to use, for a few days, a week, or longer if you wish.
What makes this property unique
We used reclaimed materials from our business (Used Anew) for multiple features throughout the home, including wood floors made from resawn barn beams, and tables, stools, bedroom furniture, vanity tops, etc. made from reclaimed boards. These features add a unique country feel to the home. The home is comfortable and functional and the rural setting yields a slower pace in a quiet space where you can wind down from your busy day. During the growing and harvesting seasons we enjoy watching the farming activities all around us as our neighbors work the fields and harvest their crops. We frequently spot Bald Eagles and other wildlife from our windows or when we're out enjoying the yard. On cloudless nights, you'll enjoy the lack of light pollution. The only lights you'll see for miles will be a few neighbors' yard lights and an occasional passing vehicle on the road. You may not have realized just how many stars are visible in the night sky!
