Host was great and very responsive. Long walk down to the beach but it was worth it. Kitchen could use some work with cleanliness. It was a really hot week and while the house did not have AC the host provided units which was very generous but the could not keep up to adequately cool the home to a comfortable temperature

Spectacular views!

This rental was perfect for our family get-together. The views out the windows were spectacular. Beds and pillows were comfortable . Place was clean upon arrival. We had a little mouse visit us, but we scooped him up and sent him back outside.

We had a wonderful family stay here and really enjoyed the beautiful setting. The lake view is the star of the show, especially at sunset, and the nighttime view is just as impressive—the stars and Milky Way were incredible. The kids also loved the bunk beds and having a big space of their own downstairs.As with most vacation rentals, the house has a few quirks. Some of the closets and cupboards don’t close properly, and the bathroom fan makes a pretty crazy noise, but none of that took away from our overall experience. The house was generally well stocked, with plenty of plates and glassware, some basic/generic spices in the kitchen, and puzzles and games to keep everyone entertained.Those 200 steps down to the beach really are no joke, especially with young kids! They definitely make you appreciate every trip to the lake. That said, the beach and setting were worth the climb. Heads up for future guests, the lake bottom is very rocky. We ended up going to Petoskey State Park for one of our beach days to enjoy the typical Lake Michigan sandy bottom and avoid the stairs. For things to do nearby, we’d recommend Pond Hill Farm, Pirate's Cove (putt putt), The Highlands for a chairlift ride, Yummies for ice cream, and Tom’s Mom's for cookies. We packed a lot into our stay and loved having so many family-friendly options nearby.Overall, this was a great place for a relaxing summer getaway, and we left with lots of wonderful family memories.

Great week at Cliff House

Our family, 7 adults (28-63) and 2 kids under 2 enjoyed a week in this property mid-June (crowds pick up after July 4th). The secluded setting and beautiful view of Lake Michigan were spectacular. The beach is private and worth the 200 steps down and back up. Day trips to Harbor Springs, Petoskey, Good Hart, and Cross Village were fun, but nightly sunsets as we gathered in the living room were the highlight. Except for a brief power outing in the area on our first day, the property was fully functional and handled our crowd perfectly. Highly recommend this property if you'd like to get away and enjoy this beautiful part of northern Michigan!

Exceptional

We had the privilege of staying at this property the summer of 2019 and again in the spring of 2025. Beautiful stone cottage nestled high within the trees with the most incredible view of Lake Michigan. The stairs to the waterfront are well maintained and lead to a private beachfront. The home exceeds all expectations and is incredibly well stocked with plenty of linens, towels, and all the necessary kitchen and laundry supplies. The property manager, Trevor, is very easy to reach and goes above and beyond to accommodate the needs of guests (he ensured that we had propane for the grill, plenty of firewood, and even brought a high chair and crib to the property before we arrived!). We enjoyed hiking down to the beach, walking along the lakefront collecting stones, watching the sunset from the deck, sitting around the wood burning fireplace on chilly evenings, and stargazing at night. Thank you for the wonderful memories, we can’t wait to be back.

The home has a nice open floor plan, was well stocked and clean. The location is fantastic for beaches, restaurants and Up North activities. I believe that listing the home as a four bedroom home is a disservice to potential occupants. Not a great home for families and children because there is only one bedroom with a door. The second bedroom is a loft that is open to the family room and the two bedrooms in the lower level don't have doors, so absolutely no privacy and everyone needs to go to bed at the same time. One bathroom has a tub and shower and the other two bathroom showers are very small. There is also very limited outdoor space for games or just sitting around and the deck railing is very dangerous for kids. The beach is lovely but rocky and the stairs are truly brutal. This is a great home for the right occupants but make sure you do your due diligence on the floor plan to make sure it will work for you. Lastly, there is NO air conditioning and because of the great natural light coming from the west, the home gets very warm in the afternoon and evening. The west facing living room does offer gorgeous sunsets.
