The Trailside Retreat is a family and pet-friendly getaway minutes from Greenville, Travelers Rest, and the foothills of the Appalachian mountains. You’ll have the adventure of a lifetime riding bikes or walking right from your backyard on the Swamp Rabbit Trail to the best parts of upstate SC. Just over 1 mile to Furman University’s awe inspiring 750-acre campus, 4 miles north to the laid back food and drink scene of downtown Travelers Rest, or 4 miles south to the popular Main Street and Falls Park in Greenville.

The space
Your vacation retreat includes 3 spacious bedrooms, 2 updated bathrooms and well-appointed kitchen, living, and dining rooms to ensure you’ll have a comfortable home base for whatever brings you to town. Complete with a dedicated remote workspace, bike storage, 2 bikes for guest use, over half an acre of fully fenced yard, and a fire pit/campfire grill with outdoor seating and dining areas, you’ll never want to leave the house… that is until you find out all the amazing experiences Greenville and Upstate SC have to offer.

Wish we had time to stay longer. My husband and I share with our son and family with 3 granchildren. Plenty of space and wonderful fenced yard to keep toddlers from wandering. We explored the trail accessible immediately behind home and loved how friendly the community was. Kitchen had everything we needed to prepare pancakes, waffles, and bacon and caffeine for the adults. Ran out of time to enjoy the bikes, but plan to come back for that !

Great house right on the Trail

My husband and our dog loved our stay at this property. Large, clean fenced yard and just steps off the Swamp Rabbit trail. Comfortable beds and plenty of room to stretch out. Quiet neighborhood, very close to Publix, Paris Mountain Park and Furman.

Needed a place near the Furman University Theatre

Not only was this house absolutely adorable, but it also surpassed what the online photos showcased. It was perfectly clean and well stocked with all the essentials. The backyard was the BEST part of this house. It’s perfect for a dog because it’s huge, flat and fenced. But, it’s even better for families because of the firepit with Adirondack chairs and swing around it. The string lights that came on at dusk gave a perfect ambiance for making s’mores. It also is complete with fun outdoor games, like giant connect four! But I have to say, the best part of this experience was the friendly communication of the host, Justin. He was super quick to respond to questions and flexible with some last-minute changes. I highly recommend staying at this house if you have any event nearby Furman University (it’s literally 5 minutes away) or in Greenville!

Great location in Greenville

Calling all triathletes: you couldn't ask for a better location than this VRBO rental. Just outside the back gate is the Swamp Rabbit Trail, perfect for biking and running. About five-minutes drive away is the Greenville County Aquatic Center with a 50-meter pool kept at competition temperature. If you are a dedicated cyclist, bring your own bike. Even though two bikes are provided, one of them appears to be made for a very short person. Even with the seat elevated as high as it would go, I couldn't straighten my legs.The house was immaculate, comfortable and well-lit inside. Beware of the heavy wooden chandelier over the dining room table. My husband and I brained ourselves on that thing a couple of times. The surrounding neighborhood is nice for walking your dog, and the people are very friendly. Publix and Walmart are only five minutes away. Yea! You don't have to shop at Ingalls!
