We enjoyed the townhouse and the property. It had everything we needed for the few days we were going to be there. The host was super welcoming, informative and helpful. We’d definitely stay at one of Norman’s properties again!
We will never stay here again and would strongly advise others to look elsewhere. We arrived to an extremely dirty unit with sand, dirt, dog hair everywhere, a stained couch, and even smelly dead fish left in the freezer. The owner joked about hoping the cleaners had come, but it was clear they had not. After a long day of travel, we spent our first few hours cleaning the townhouse ourselves, which is completely unacceptable for the price.Even after cleaning, it was clear the property is poorly maintained and very run down. The listing photos make it appear bright and relaxing, but the reality was far different.What ultimately pushed us to leave this review was our experience with the owner. We brought our boat down for fishing, so having ice available on-site was a major perk. However, instead of providing access to the ice machine, the owner required us to call him whenever we needed ice. Every interaction felt like we were inconveniencing him, and he repeatedly vented his personal frustrations to us.The final straw came on our last day when I called for ice and was met with a profanity-filled rant about how ice was the “lowest priority” on his list and proceeded to drop every cuss word in the book. We came here to relax on vacation, not to be subjected to that kind of unprofessional behavior. The only positive aspect of this stay was the yacht club grounds and marina. If you book here, you are paying for the location and marina, everything else was sub-par.

The Kawama property itself is great. Very unique. Has a Marina, multiple swimming pools, a lagoon, jetty. Close to many restaurants etc. This specific condo however I would not stay in again or recommend. There’s no way it’s been updated or even remotely maintained likely since its purchase. It was extremely run down . Toilet seats broken, cabinets broken, all the trim and doors broken and falling apart, literal holes in walls in every single room everywhere you look, couch is all broken down you can barely sit, bar stool was completely broken and is going to get someone hurt . All of the available blankets etc were completely worn out and gross. It also didn’t appear to have been cleaned. The sheets were dirty, there was a chewed up piece of chocolate on the kitchen floor, beer bottles full of cigarette butts on both patios, sand all over kitchen chairs, every dish I tried to use was filthy, blenders etc were broken and dirty. We are pretty low maintenance people and expect the sort of old Florida you get with the keys. This was not that. This is a property owner charging the same expensive price as all the other condos in the community and not bothering to lift a finger maintaining this condo . I own rental properties , part of this is upkeep and maintenance. This owner is doing nothing of the sort it was very unfortunate to have spent several thousand dollars staying here. And charged a cleaning fee, when it was so incredibly gross when we got there had to clean it myself
