The spot is great, with spectacular views overlooking Marina Cay and to Tortola and Virgin Gorda in the distance. The beach is just a brief steep walk down the hill. The house is nicely proportioned with a big porch and three bedrooms of decent size. And while not fancy, it is certainly comfortable, clean and very pleasant. The hosts are incredibly attentive and responsive and provided boat transportation and guiding basically on demand. We had a great time.
We recently returned from an amazing stay at the Aloe House. The property and our hosts exceeded expectations in every way. Marnie and Don are wonderful!! Their location, on Great Camanoe island, just a stone's throw from Tortola but a world away, was such a treat.
We have rented amazing properties around the world through VRBO but the views from this home were beyond anything I could have dreamt of. Waking up and viewing the boats go by and hearing the faint chatter from the lovely Marina Cay beach bar (a short boat ride away) was so relaxing and delightful.
We used the home as a stopover between two boat charters with friends and family and it was perfect for this. There's a small but pristine beach an easy 5 minute walk down then hill with brand new paddle boards - a very kid friendly beachfront. The snorkeling just around the corner was wonderful. The kitchen came well stocked with spices and other staples (get your groceries beforehand on Tortola) and the house had everything we needed for a comfortable stay - plenty of fresh towels, nice linens, soaps, bug spray, laundry detergent, etc.
There's great separation of space among the three bedrooms, with two completely detached bedrooms with ensuite baths and a large great room attached to the kitchen and dining area where we all hung out the majority of the time. I couldn't recommend this property more for those looking for a truly relaxing, secluded retreat in a special corner of the BVIs.
