The house was a good size, clean, great location, all mod cons, superb communication with host as well. It was an absolute pleasure staying at this house. Next time I’m in town I will be booking this place. Loved it.
We had a great stay at the Motown hangout! You can look right out outside and see the Motown museum from your porch! 8 mins from downtown. Of course the house is old, just like every other house in the neighborhood…and it could some improvement… But it was very spacious. There IS a washer in the basement (not pictured). The kitchen was very nice. And The beds were a bit too firm for our liking. But overall it was nice for our big family.
This house is located a stone's throw from the historic Motown museum. We felt like it was in a safe neighborhood with easy driving to all our attraction destinations. The home was clean and had simple finishes. The added bonus of a washer and dryer is great for the longer stays. The homeowner was responsive and we had all the basic necessities. This is not a lavish stay but serves as a nice simple place to rest your eyes in between exploring what Detroit has to offer. I would book here again with the understanding that there is compromise on the simplicity of the furniture/finishes in the home versus a higher priced stay. Thank you for making our stay as seamless as possible as our first visit to Detroit

Liked: Cleanliness, check-in, listing accuracy
Disliked: Communication
Short stay
Property was nice, but there was no communication from the owner. The automated messages were clear and concise, but the listing says we could request checking in early, and I called, and messaged and was ghosted. If we could not check in early, that was fine (as we obviously did not check in early) but a simple communication would have been nice.
As soon as we walked through the door, it was musty, so immediately we opened up all of the windows to air out. The living area couch was supported by 2x4's. The house itself had a great deal of character BUT the owner needs to sink some $ into it and a few more outdoor chairs would be good for the amazing front porch. The beds were comfortable and the towels smelled washed, which was nice. The backyard was not inviting at all. My son in law was cut by broken glass that he picked up somewhere in the house. Unfortunately, once we noticed, he had already been at the sink so there were a few blood marks on the floor that I cleaned up with some paper towel but when I looked at the paper towel to see what I had lifted, I GAGGED at how dirty the floor actually was. Again, we were safe, neighbor's were friendly and the location was great! Thank you
