Cozy place in convenient neighborhood close to Metro

Our host was accommodating. She was easy to reach and to communicate with. DC has a tremendous transit system and we were a short 3 blocks from Columbia Square Station, which made getting everywhere quite easy. Neighborhood felt safe and the locals we met were very gracious. We’d stay here again.

Good location and value.

We stayed five nights. The neighborhood was good and had a short walk to good ethnic restaurants and the Metro 🚇. Some small problems were addressed immediately and cheerfully by the prop mgrs. Definitely recommend.

Comfortable and convenient

Apartment was very clean and comfortable with good wifi. Nice location, residential area but a block from all stores and conveniences and a Metro stop. Kitchen was equipped well enough for us to dine in twice. I would recommend it.

Great location for a long weekend

My husband and I took my 84 year old dad to DC for his first trip to the city. The home was perfect for us with the two bedrooms, living area, and kitchen. The location was easy to get Lyfts to and from for my dad, along with being close to public transportation. We also were within walking distance to a grocery store, drug store, coffee and restaurants. I would recommend this for your next stay.

Overall good to great. Some issues at start but prompt attention from owner. Little things add up. Would be beneficial to owner to provide small things ie: Kleenex, coffee, additional towels and garbage bags. A short welcome note? Dc maps and explanation to direction to grocery, eateries etc.

Great location!

We found these things within walking distance: Target, Best Buy, Marshall’s, Starbucks, Chick-fil-a, Taco Bell, the zoo, and the metro station for getting to the tourist sites (about 30 minutes total travel time and metro cost of $2.00). The beds were comfortable. The shower was nice. The kitchen and living room were perfect for us. The neighborhood is quiet and safe. Communication was great. :-)

Great location for exploring

First, the good parts. The location was perfect for us. It was close to the Metro stop, shops, and had a variety of restaurants in the area. We were able to explore DC to our hearts' content. However, there were some downsides. When we first got to the property (about 6 p.m.), we discovered the unit had not been cleaned. That was very disconcerting. The property manager did respond quickly and got the cleaning crew there rapidly, but it was still a 2 hour wait for the cleaning to be completed. Very frustrating after a long trip. Another issue was a lack of water pressure in the shower. There's also no way to control the temperature in the unit. It was quite chilly while we were there. Even with the space heaters (the one in my room didn't work), the unit remained very cool throughout our visit. Fortunately, the beds were comfortable with plenty of blankets. And we both enjoyed having TVs in our respective bedrooms.

Columbia Heights apartment

The apartment was clean, well organized, conveniently located for a short walk to the metro, and bus, grocery store and many restaurants and shopping. We were able to easily get around DC exploring the sights. We stayed for one week and were comfotable. Could have used a few throw blankets for when we watched tv in the evenings and a extra sheet. (One bed did not have a top sheet. ) Was quiet at night time and we were able to sleep well. This apartment worked well for our vacation.

Mediocre at best

The location of this apartment is absolutely fantastic. Close to the metro and lots of conveniences. With that said, that’s the only good thing about it. The pillows are horrible and one of the beds squeaks very loud. The living furniture is horribly uncomfortable and while we didn’t spend any time watching tv, if we wanted to, it would have been bad. You can hear every single movement from the upstairs neighbors which is really annoying at night when trying to get to sleep. The shower is horrible, no water pressure. Overall very uncomfortable stay.

Not pleased at all.

After driving 13 hours to this location, the first thing our party of 7 smelled was GAS! We went back and forth with the property manager only for them to CONFIRM that there was a gas leak. However, there was no solution for us. Went back and forth only for them to tell us that it was fixed (which by the smell, it clearly wasn't). My 3 children as well as us adults had to deal with headaches because of this smell. The property was poorly kept in need of renovations. (Some of the outlets didn't work and the shower stall leaks a significant amount into the hallway.) The owner offered to credit us 2 days on later dates, however, we live in FL so that would be a huge inconvenience for us. Extremely disappointed and I warn future renters to steer clear from this property. They will not treat you or your family well. Stayed 3/12/16-3/16/16

Friends visiting the capital

I was disappointed in the property. It was very convenient for us and a nice walk to Trivolia Square but the actual apartment was not what I would expect. In other places I have stayed, there is usually a welcome binder with information on stores, close by eateries, and much more. We found one sheet that told us about the lock and internet pass code. There was also a map of the metro system but it would have been nice to have a brochure to be able to take with us. Also it would have been nice to know that the grocery charged for bags if you didn't bring your own and that there was a shopping cart in the kitchen to use. WIth no instructions available, we had issues with all the tv's as we did not know how to turn on the tv - given there were two remotes and there was no listing of what the local stations were. No directions on how to regulate the heat as being a lower unit, it was chilly at night. The beds had a sheet on the mattress but no sheet above and between you and the comforter on the bed. Pillows were big but very hard and high. Our friends didn't even use theirs. In the bathroom, the toilet paper holder was broken and every time you pulled the paper, the end of the holder fell off and the roll went rolling across the floor. Ended up just taking the roll off and setting it beside the toilet. There were no extra towels, no extra blankets. As we attempted to go out to the patio, we had to move bags of dirt at the top of the stairs in order to get out and the patio was rather junky with old grills and other stuff sitting around. Was not happy either to see bug spray kept under the kitchen sink. You do hear the people upstairs so if you are light sleeper this is not for you. I rate it fair as it was convenient for us and we like the area but the unit did not give us a warm welcome or make us feel comfortable, it was a place to sleep was all.

Convenient and economical

Nothing fancy, but everything you need is here. Can't beat the location with proximity to grocery shopping and the Metro. Although the people in the floor above were quiet, the sound of foot steps or chairs moving is pretty amplified.... but not enough to worry about. This unit can't be beat for convenience and price in DC. We would definitely come again!

Spacious & Clean and Equipped with All we Needed

We immensely enjoyed our stay at this home! There was four of us, (two married couples) and it was perfect with two bedrooms which had closets and PLENTY of drawer and dresser-top space! We brought a LOT and had plenty of places to unpack things. Also in the kitchen there was lots of shelves to unpack our extra items! It made for a relaxed stay! We had everything we needed and communication with the property owner and management was excellent! We highly recommend this lodging. It was very clean, supplied with all we needed, comfortable in every way. The thermostat is not accessible to the tenant however, all you need do is text management and they will adjust the air/heat. If you get too cold at night, there is a nice heater in each bedroom, which is also a fan. We loved how much space there was. We never felt cramped or crowded. It was a lovely stay for us!!

Property was a little beat up, but clean.

Location was great. Easy access to everything. Safe building, quiet. We were happy there. Some drawbacks: dryer takes 4 tries to dry a simple load of clothes. This becomes an issue when trying to make 6 towels last a week for 2 people. There were no kitchen towels or dishcloths. The hairdryer was inoperable. No heat or a/c controls in unit (appeared to be controlled in a different part of the building, maybe?). We were comfortable, but that may have just been luck - we had perfect weather while we were there. None of these were deal-killers for us. We’d stay there again, but maybe bring more towels. :) On the positive side, the owner/management were very responsive to requests for help (there was a water issue when we arrived due to heavy rains, and they were there in minutes to take care of it). They seem pretty committed to making sure you’re happy. The biggest problem for us was the lack of parking. If you’re flying in, it shouldn’t be much of an issue. But we drove 2 days to get there and had a carful of stuff to unload. Then reload at the end. That was tricky with literally no place to park. The parking garage is only 2 blocks away, but that’s a haul for two people and all their junk. Btw, the parking rate is currently $15/night, so factor that in to your nightly rate if you drive. If we stay here again, we will plan a bit differently, but the location is so good, and the ownership as well, that there’s a good chance we’ll be back.

It met our needs well

Despite getting the wrong code to the lock box containing the key, we eventually got in. Make sure you have a contact number. If you know there will be guests in the upstairs, then hearing them isn't an issue. We were short on regular sized silverware, but left a note for them. If you aren't careful while showering, water will flow out to the hallway. We adjusted. It was great to have free WiFi, washer and dryer, full kitchen. We chose this house based on its proximity to the metro and grocery stores. We had the space we needed and didn't step over each other as we would have in a hotel room. It wasn't perfect, but neither is our own home!
