It was a perfect fit for our large family. Lots of space inside and out. Many things to do in the are as well. Check in and out was simple and the owners were easy to communicate with. We hope to go back sometime.
Could be a little cleaner, & they could have had more paper products. That being said-it was a beautiful property & we truly had the best time!! It was a little chilly so couldn’t use the pool pond much-but still so much to do!! We would 100% recommend it & would definitely return!

Great family retreat
Great place for family get together. Property had trash around pond and was dirty in bathrooms but overall not bad. Had a blast. Planning on returning!!
To be honest, the space is alone sets this place apart from the rest. It has some wear and tears as described. The property manager was great and his staff were amazing. I did have to communicate things during our stay and they were prompt to fix them. Our family enjoyed the hot tub the most. The area had a lot to offer fishing, hiking and Prairie Du Chein had a fun zone and great restaurants.
Nice quiet location on dead end road. Plenty of room for a large family, and the right fit if you are looking for a rental that is clean enough to live in but not meticulous. The family loved all the water opportunities- jacuzzi, hot tub, and swimming pond; bring outside and inside games if you want something to do other than water, campfire, or television.
we enjoyed our stay, the place was very roomy and easy to find. we enjoyed the hot tub. we didn't like the hand rail on the stairs(they seemed steep) it was to big (your hands couldn't grip it) but it was a great get away and very relaxing
Centrally located to area parks. The hot tub lid didn't fit, but was told a new one was ordered. The jets on the hot tub only ran on low. We chose this home because of the hot tub and couldn't enjoy it. Home needs dusting. Besides the hot tub issue and dust, it is a great home.

Big House for Group Getaway
Though the house could use a bit of help, but we enjoyed our friends' getaway here. The good: lots of room (6 separate sleeping areas), the swimming pond was really fun, it was close to the dock for launching our pontoon onto the Mississippi, and no cleaning was required to check out. The frustrations: an unclear check-in process, some of the areas of the house were not clean (for instance: we had to pull out two large chunks of hair out of the shower drain before it would take water), some of the beds were hard and squeaky, our party all got chigger bites after sitting around the firepit, and we were required to take all of our garbage to a dumpster 10 miles away at check out. We still had a great time!

Friends Getaway
Stayed Oct 2024. Plenty of room for 9 friends. The 3 basement bedrooms were not ideal, it was damp & cool on the concrete floor. The place was a bit outdated and not super clean. Adequate kitchen supplies. Bring your own kitchen and hand towels. Hot tub's second jets did not work. The property was beautiful, nestled into a tree covered valley. Loads of privacy. Great location, close to lots to do: wineries, Spook Cave, Yellow River SP, Pikes Peak, casino, Effigy Mounds NP.

Nice house, lacking upkeep
The property itself is nice and the swimming pond is great. However, it was clear the cleaning here was surface level. Lots of dust under the furniture. We were not provided toilet paper, paper towel, Kleenex, or trash bags and that was not clearly listed in the description. The coffee pot was not working properly, dishwasher had sitting water in it so couldn’t be used, hot tub cover was broken and so was the grill cover. We also needed to go to the store and exchange the propane tank ourselves. Lots of honey bees in the yard and 2 of the young children with us were stung on their feet going back and forth from the house to the pond. Basement floor is concrete making it quite chilly down there. Trash needed to be disposed of in a dumpster 15 miles south of the property.

After confirming our arrival time with the owner, someone showed up to the house to clean as we pulled in, and we had to wait in the driveway. He needed “30-40 minutes” to clean a 6 bedroom house. Needless to say, the house needs a deep clean after every rental! We bought cleaning supplies and vacuumed before we unloaded. The house is not a fully stocked kitchen. Especially for this size of guests. We had to ask for more silverware, toilet paper, and pans to cook. Beds and furniture need updating. Everyone had to shower in master bath as hot water pressure was so low in guest bath. The swimming pond and hot tub were enjoyed by everyone. We brought floaties and kids loved the area to jump in. Yard space is deceiving in pictures. Deck furniture needs updating, grill is small and falling apart for cooking for a large group. This property has a lot of potential, sleeping space, and private bedrooms but needs cleaning, stocking, and updating. We enjoyed our time, but check-in was a bad start to the vacation.
We were a group of 6 staying for 3 nights. The house was nice, not a clean as we expected, but ok. Water in the house was a big issue. Water pressure was extremely slow. If two people were taking showers at the same time there was no pressure at all. It also listed 3 bathrooms, there were 3 but one was a half bath. It worked for us but if all the bedrooms in the house were occupied it would not have. Loved the area!
When we arrived, the house was unfortunately not clean and had several issues. There were roaches and ladybugs throughout the home, bacon grease all over the stove, unswept floors, and the fridge and microwave were dirty. The water pressure was also too low to take a proper shower. Additionally, the hot tub lid was off and the water level was low, green, and full of sand and leaves. The maintenance technician, came the next day to look at everything and ultimately determined the issues couldn’t be fixed during our stay. He helped move us to another rental.
