Such a cute place with great surroundings. We only stayed for a quick overnight and spent the day hiking at McConnel's Mill State Park. Really great hiking and a surprising well-preserved mill that we got to tour. We needed help getting in when we first arrived and had an immediate response from host. Highly recommend.

We enjoyed our stay at Gwen’s Cottage! It was peaceful and tranquil and a nice escape from our work routine! We found some nice antique shops and some restaurants offering local flavor too! It was a pleasant getaway!

Perfect Getaway

This was a perfect place to spend some time alone as a couple. Clean, easy to find, Friendly Owner, and an awesome Guard Cat. Located right along the water with trees all around, the property made us feel extremely relaxed. I will recommend to anyone visiting the area and we will stay again upon our next visit.

Wonderful Cottage in Nature!

Stayed at this cottage in the Fall and the property is beautiful! Nice and remote, surrounded by beautiful nature and scenery. So peaceful, immaculately clean, and the owner Gwen is very friendly and down to earth! Nearby parks were a joy to hike. 5/5 highly recommend, look forward to seeing how the property evolves in the future.

We had a wonderful stay. It’s such a cute little cottage! Very clean and Gwen (the host) is so nice! We went end of December and it was really cold so we didn’t get to enjoy all of the outdoor amenities, but it was nice. The site does say that it sleeps 4, but there is only one king bed… for those traveling with more people. Also, they do have WIFI, but no TV.

My new favorite get away!

Gwen was so nice and helpful! The cottage was so cute! If you like cats you’ll make a new best friend while relaxing out on the deck. The location was great, in the middle of no where but still so close to stores and restaurants. I definitely plan on coming back.

Gwen’s cottage was exactly what we were looking for. A beautiful cozy home away from home. The check-in process was super easy. It was close to McConnells Mills. Beautiful country roads all around. Easily accessible to rt 79. We would love to go back to see all the upgrades the owner is in the process of doing around the property. The nearby creek was beautiful as well. It was a peaceful stay and we appreciate Gwen’s hospitality.

Relaxing Weekend Getaway

Quaint accommodations and gracious host. Gwen’s Cottage at the Water’s Edge is the perfect place to relax and unwind. Located on above the stream and minutes from McConnells Mill and Moraine. Hiking, kayaking, and swimming filled our days. Nights, great restaurants are too just a short drive. The cottage is well appointed, immaculately clean, and provides the peaceful surroundings needed after a day’s activities. 5stars

This property is off the beaten path but right on a river. Recently redone it is like a nest in the trees. It is mid trees height. We noticed the wild turkeys were roosting in trees close by.It was special. When they settled down so did we. Lovely inside. A caring host. A getaway hiking trip and just 1 night.

Serene Getaway

A quaint, clean, cozy cottage on the side of the wooded ravine overlooking a rippling creek. We enjoyed setting on the deck hearing the water flow and the birds sing.We enjoyed walking alongside the creek.Gwens cabin is so cute and everyone was very welcoming.We hiked several beautiful waterfalls around the area. Most were pretty easy hikes.When we left we drove into Ellwood and had a scrumptious breakfast at Breaking Bread.It was a wonderful break from city life and we plan to go back again. Thanks Gwen and crew!

Cozy winter getaway

We arrived in the dark but were still able to locate the driveway by the signs near the road. The driveway is quite steep leading down to the property. Gwen greeted us in the lodge and provided all the details about the property and a waiver to sign. The cottage is up a flight of stairs from the parking area. Inside, everything was neat and clean. A WiFi hotspot was provided so we had internet access. Our stay was very comfortable and relaxing. We would stay again.
