Chez ZigZag: Relax in peace with a Killer View of water and mountains.
For larger groups (up to 10) all three of our units on the immediate property may be reserved. The other two are; OAK ALLEY - vrbo.com/1521849 and PORTHOLE - vrbo.com/3625064.
Sorry, but the SMALL PRINT needs to come next - The base price is for the initial one or two guests. Additional guests -INCLUDING CHILDREN OF ANY AGE - are charged at $50 per person, per night. Undeclared additional guests are charged at $100 per person, per night, charged through VRBO as "additional guest" and due immediately. THIRD PARTY BOOKINGS incur an additional charge of $500 due upon arrival. The external portions of the space (Front/Back yard, and walkways)are covered by security cameras to ensure the safety and integrity of the property. Use of the Sauna is shared with the owners who live on the main floor. Instructions are on the Sauna and is "first come first served". The apartment and general grounds are SMOKE FREE and are not 420 friendly. There are four living units in this property. Due to their proximity, Quiet Times are from 10PM to 7AM.
There is a construction project in this neighborhood, so PARKING may be a challenge through Spring of 2026.
NOW FOR THE GOOD STUFF. Chez ZigZag is an upstairs apartment accessed from 204 S Oak St. It has a delightful view of the Strait of Juan de Fuca , Victoria, B.C., Mt. Baker and assorted ocean going vessels. The activity of the harbor is always changing. Over 60 different types of boats and ships can be seen regularly.
"Chez" (pronounced "shay") is French for "at the home of", and "ZigZag" is derived from the locally named ‘zigzag’ walkway that connects the home to the downtown area. Chez ZigZag is within easy walking distance of: downtown and an excellent organic grocery "Country Aire", Field Arts And Event Center, and Safeway / Starbucks, the Coho Ferry and Hollywood Beach/ Discovery Trail head. Downtown also boasts a wide variety of excellent restaurants - all just a short walk away.
Guests have access to either the front patio with its clear "Dome-a-cile", the rear covered patio in the back, and the Sauna. Chez ZigZag offers a memorable home away from home, stocked with everything you could want or need for a wonderful visit to Port Angeles. The owners live on the main level and are eager to make sure your stay is the very best. Why stay anywhere else! Come and see.

The mountain and water views were spectacular! The hosts were also fantastic! Super-friendly, very respectful of our privacy but most definitely available for questions and suggestions for things to do. Also, every room had so much thought put into it that whenever we looked for something, we found it right where we would have put it. It really is a very well-thought out design. All this and the price was very reasonable. We are most definitely going to return there!
We had an exceptional stay at Chez Zig Zag. The home is beautiful and the setting is spectacular. There are beautiful views of the water from the living and dining areas and such lovely areas to sit outside such as the gardens, swings, fireplace area and dome. The home sits high on the bluff next to the Zig Zag trail which takes you down into town. It is close to so many restaurants and to the ferry station. The proximity to Olympic National Park was wonderful and we used it as a home base to travel to Hurricane Ridge, Crescent Lake and other areas. It was easy to take a day trip to Victoria B.C on the Ferry. Brent and Amy are wonderful hosts. The place is immaculate and stocked with everything you need. It was a pleasure to stay in this home and I highly recommend it.

We loved the design and layout of the Zig Zag, we loved the view. Our hosts thought of everything. The bed was comfortable and the space was plenty for the two of us.

We walked everywhere when not out doing the touristy things like taking the ferry to Victoria, and going to Mount Olympic National Park! A great stay.... wish it could have been longer! I think this is our fifth time to stay at Chez Zigzag, starting in 2013 and we love the hospitality of the owners, the views from the rooms (including from the shower), the convenience of the location and the furnishings including some nice artwork and interesting other pieces. They keep adding to and improving the property and it is certainly one of the best places to stay in Port Angeles. Also recommend the Country Aire grocery store very near by.
Lovely clean property with everything we needed. Walking distance to downtown Port Angeles with many shops and restaurants and the waterfromt. There were fresh eggs from the owners chickens in the fridge which we cooked and were delicious. Thank you!
My son and i stayed here 2 nights while exploring Olympic. The location made it easy to drive into the park and also walk downtown. The kitchen was well stocked and also had a beautiful view! We loved their patio and fire at night. We'd stay here again and stay longer. The hosts were amazing and extremely helpful!

Amy and Brent are both active Realtors with BROKERSGROUP Realty in Sequim WA. Both are regular cyclists and enjoy e-biking around the North Olympic Peninsula. Living here has been a blessing to them. They look forward to sharing the wonders of Port Angeles and the North Olympic Peninsula with their guests. After living all over the USA, they've decided this is the best place of all. The natural beauty of the surroundings and the friendly people are delightful. Amy grew up in Pennsylvania, Brent in Southern Oregon. They have four grown children and four grand kids. They've now been married for 43 wonderful years and look forward to many more. They live on the main floor and are available should a special need arise. They may, occasionally, be using either one of the two patios, or be maintaining other aspects of the property, but will endeavor to do this when Guests are not present when possible.
Why they chose this property
The Powells stumbled into a vacation rental. The home they purchased came with a separate apartment upstairs. The renters moved out and they spent the next 4 months remodeling the apartment. Amy did the designing, Brent and hired professionals did the rest. They are excited to offer it to visitors to the North Olympic Peninsula. "If we came to Port Angeles looking for a vacation rental, this is the one we would pick. It is luxurious, and centrally located with easy access to just about everything." Chez ZigZag provides a peaceful retreat that can't be beat. Come and see. You won't be disappointed!
What makes this property unique
We were attracted to our home by the fact it had been solidly and well constructed and remained in original condition. Best of all there had been no mediocre, ill conceived, home owner remodels to correct... it was a blank canvas. What you see now took several years, financial commitment and many craftsmen's hours to accomplish. We are excited to share it with you.
