This place was amazing. Decorated with wonderful unique art. It had a very cozy feeling. It was close to the wedding we were attending. It's quiet and there are multiple bike ride and hikes everywhere. Fun! Host was fantastic. Definitely recommend!
We were here for a week in mid-October, and other than a few clouds rolling in on our last night here, the weather was perfect for our entire stay. The house was clean and neat, we had everything we needed, and it is in a secluded location with a beautiful view of the Sandia Mountains right outside the front door. There were neighbors nearby, but we never saw anyone else, or even heard anyone. We enjoyed looking at the stars, and even saw some shooting stars during the meteor shower that passed over. We would definitely stay here again if we are ever in this area. Thank you for letting stay in your home!
My wife and I stayed at Casa Watermelon for a week with our dog. This was one of the best rentals we've ever experienced. The New Mexican architecture is beautiful, the views are incredible, and there’s easy access to excellent hiking and mountain biking trails. The sunsets from the property are truly next level. Highly recommend.
Its a great place to get away . We really enjoyed the stay. Great hikes minutes from the house. Really enjoyed being minutes from ABQ. Sure will consider staying there again when visiting relatives
This property was INCREDIBLE! The perfect location between everything we had planned to do - downtown Albuquerque, the Sandia Tram, and Santa Fe. We were able to watch the sunrise and sunset over the Sandia Mountains right from the back yard! The vibe of this space was perfect for any getaway vacation and was in a quiet, peaceful location - we will definitely be back! Thank you!!
Very cute house. Much more spacious than I realized. I didn't spend as much time there as I usually would during the day because I was in Placitas to visit my dad, but I was very comfortable, the design was lovely, the location was great, and it brought perfect desert vibes. Wasn't an issue for me, but worth noting that there are several steps in the house, including down into the shower.Definitely use the host's driving directions because Google Maps was very wrong. Also don't recommend getting there in the pitch black like I did. :) We'll definitely stay again on our next trip to Placitas.
For me, this property is beyond words to sum it up. If you are looking for a slice of New Mexico, near the Sandia's, elevated up and away from it all, this is your place.
It is eclectic, real adobe feel, and peaceful. It is perfect to unplug, unwind, and enjoy the beauty New Mexico has to offer.
This is a side note from one traveler to another, there are steps in this house, if you cannot navigate, or have a hard time with perception, just be aware. For me, this was absolutely NOT a problem as I enjoyed the uniqueness. Also, this is in Placitias which is a really cool village. It is about 6-8 minutes to I-25, and quick trip to ABQ or Santa Fe.
The host is also amazing. This one tops my list as a well seasoned international traveler, vacation rentals, hotels, etc.
Words of Advice: Google Maps brought up the wrong road. The "yard" is enclosed for your pup if you bring them. So nice to know! In the main bedroom there are amazing window for you to fall asleep and view the stars. The sunrises are spectacular, with the sunsets just as marvelous.
This was our first time in New Mexico, and we enjoyed our stay. We absolutely adored the eclectic, welcoming décor! The home was clean and exactly as pictured. The house was comfortable and well-appointed with everything you think you may need and more! The master bedroom had a comfy bed and cool view with the skylight… loved being able to doze off under the stars. We did a lot of hiking on Sandia Mountain and were rewarded with a relaxing soak in the hot tub afterward. I was thankful for the local recommendations you provided for things to do and restaurants to try! You were incredibly responsive with any questions about the home and vast surrounding property, and check in was a breeze! Your reco to try El Pinto was fantastic! The stuffed sopapillas did not disappoint! If you’re reading this… GO HERE! The portions are large—and you do get regular sopapillas with your meal. We visited both Old Town Albuquerque and Santa Fe for shopping and lunch. There are lots of unique shops, cafés and breweries. In both places, you’ll find a row of Indigenous crafters! We also took a ride to the peak of Sandia Mountain via the Tramway. The City Light ride provides a gorgeous sunset and the twinkling lights of the city below. Lastly, we went to Santa Fe and took a ride on the Santa Fe Scenic Railway. If you can swing it, opt for the First Class seat! Both were fantastic when it comes to the views New Mexico has to offer. Overall, our stay definitely exceeded expectations.
