How "Serena Alta" Got Its Name

We name each of our properties based on the character of the property. We first acquired the property next door, and because of its relaxing vibes we named it Villa Serena. Later when we acquired the two smaller apartments that were adjacent we named them Serena Alta and Serena Baja. This is the upper property, Serena Alta.

Guests have full access to:

• The apartment, including private parking on-site.

• Beach equipment provided for convenience.

• A secure, gated property for added peace of mind.

• Flexible check-in any time after 3PM, and check-out by 10AM.

• Keys will be provided on-site. We will supply the lock box code before guest arrival, on day of checkin.

• A house book with local recommendations for dining, sightseeing, and grocery shopping is provided in the property.

Our team is here to ensure you have a wonderful stay!
• Office Team: Available Monday–Friday, 9 AM–6 PM.

• Supervisor is on duty daily 9AM to 8PM, for any circumstances that require assistance.

• After 8PM our Night Service deals with any emergencies.

• On weekends our team monitors emails.

Great vacation!!!

We always rent this apartment when we go to Puerto Rico. For family is perfect, beach and park is so close, we have our parking space, very quite and nice area, and apartment has everything. Thank you and see you soon!!!

Near Ocean Park Beach

Clean. Neighborhood is mixed. Walking around is Safe but you will need to get comfortable with dogs barking. Beach is close and nice to look at. Overall a good stay. Nice place to return to in the evenings

Bring ear plugs!!

Our first night the house across the street blasted loud rap music until midnight. Every single morning there were construction noises starting at 0700 from the same house. The construction workers talking caused the dachshund on the patio of the house 30 feet behind our kitchen window to bark all day. The poor puppy howled all day to be let inside. The apartment itself was comfortable. The bedroom has two walls of windows and the third wall is a ceiling to floor mirror closet that reflected all the light. We covered as many of the windows with blankets as possible to make it dark enough to sleep. There was very little hot water pressure in the shower. Shampoo took forever to rinse out. Overall, I would not opt to stay here again. There are actually three rental units on the property. We found the entry gate left unlocked on multiple occasions. The largest unit was rented by a bachelor party group for a weekend. Nice kids, but again, a lot of noise!!

Serena Alta 2171 McLeary

The property house was very clean outside and inside and pictures were accurate. Gated community with 24 hr guard both. The unit has a great AC units, microwave, electric stove, toaster and convection oven which we made use of, coffee maker, large fridge and two queen sized beds which one of them is in the main room and is folded straight up to the wall to look like large closet. There were beverages provided and some light cooking supplies and cleaning supplies. Plates, cups, mugs and kitchen utensils also included. Towels for the beach and for bathroom was enough and beach chairs and cooler also in the room along with a safe for valuables. Ocean park beach is nearby across Barbosa Park. A washer and dryer combo is available on the outside of the house inside a gate you have keys for to use. A parking spot is available for rental car with a large locked gate. Uber is very cheap to many places under $5 USD but I recommend on renting a small car to get around especially if you need to see Old San Juan as many of the streets are very small. We enjoyed the stay and no issues with mosquitoes or crawling insects or small lizards inside the unit or outside except for the street which you may see some large ones and wild chickens. There is a white and gray cat which is friendly and likes to walk up the steps and perch herself by the entrance door so be careful coming out. I would rent this again if we were to go to Puerto Rico again in the future. Personell available for anything where responsive immediately by phone call or text messages. Thank you.

Disappointed due to customer service

The unit was quaint, on our last night we experienced multiple issues with the unit and the lack of care was very disappointed. The toilet overflooded, the issue was called in early in the morning upon arriving at the unit in the afternoon the issue was not resolved. The company representative was very condescending with followed up on why the issue was not resolved. To top it all off we got locked-in, the lock broke. The response was very late at night but someone came to assist with the issue. I spoke to management about the issues, still awaiting a response.

Very nice, clean, close to Old San Juan, nice beaches, not far from the Airport.

Stayed 3 nights at Serena Alta, over the weekend. Apartment was just the right size for 2 people, clean, in a quiet neighborhood, although come Monday, when the neighbors go to work very early, their dogs start barking/yipping. It’s nice to have a gated property, but the gate to our parking spot was difficult to lock/unlock (just needs a different type lock). Also, the folks who were in the apartment downstairs parked diagonally, taking up both their space & ours, so perhaps it needs to be made more clear about which space belongs to whom. It was really nice to have beach towels & chairs available to use! Since there are so many keys required to open the various locks, it’d be helpful to have the keys labeled as to which lock they belong to. This was one of my first experiences with a VRBO, & I would certainly recommend it.

My Stay at Punta la Marias Apt.

This is a very comfortable and quiet apartment, close to the beach and walking distance to other attractions, the apartment it´s very clean and well kept, the fact that we deal directly to Miss. We stayed here for a few nights following a cruise to extend our vacation. The location was great, close to stores, restaurants and beaches. The owners were great about providing tour and area information prior to our arrival. The house was very clean and included beach chairs, a cooler and beach towels which were great assets. The parking was off street and gated, which was great. The owners also left a bottle of Bacardi rum for us upon arrival which was really appreciated :)

Great stay at Serena Alta

Our stay at Serena Alta was an excellent experience all around and a great way to enjoy Puerto Rico. The hosts answered all of our questions promptly and the condition of the unit was amazing. I was skeptical about the murphy bed, but it was very comfortable!! The unit is equipped with everything you need to make your stay comfortable; wifi, full kitchen with utensils to make complete meals, a/c all around the house, cable tv, bluray, laundry, and so on. The location is the best feature of the house, just 3 mins walking to the beach and to a public park. Don't hesitate and book this unit, it is waaaay better than staying in a hotel in which you would at least spend twice as much money and wont be so comfortable.

Extremely comfortable and accommodating!!

Great neighborhood! Close to beach/grocery/restaurants/recreational park. Fantastic hosts! John and Annette were very accommodating and a pleasure to rent from. Very quick with answers to our questions always eager to assist with anything during our trip. We brought our 2 boys to San Juan for their first rock concert and we were to land 2 hours before the show. At last minute our flight was delayed 2 hours and put us in a very stressful situation. John and Annette were extremely kind to locate a driver that got us to the show just as the band was taking the stage. Leaving our luggage with the driver until after the show. Super cool folks!! The accommodations were very clean and comfortable. I was especially impressed with what they left for us on arrival. Juice/eggs/bread/deli meat & cheese/2 cans soda/2 cans beer/pint of Bacardi rum/ bananas/ milk/ small boxes cereal. We needed nothing for the first day in terms of food! Everything here was fantastic! Safe and secure. Call for a taxi: there in 5 minutes. Highly recommend.

Great spot close to a great local beach

This apartment on the 2nd floor is ideal for 2 people but worked out just fine for our family of 4 adults. It is very well equipped with all sorts of household machinery and it´s the first time we´ve received such a bountyfull welcome-basket with both booze, bananas and milk, just to name a few items. The decor of the Apartment is almost European and looks very well maintained. There is no outside sitting area, but we took the complimentary beachchairs down in the fenced in driveway and that worked out just fine. 5 minutes away on foot is the local well stocked supermarked and 10 minutes away by taxi, you´ll find the more touristy Isla Verde Beach. This Apartment comes with my cincere recommendations.

Great spot close to great local beach

This Apartment on the 2nd floor is ideal for 2 people, but worked out great for our Family of 4 adults. It´s very nicely designed and decorated, almost European in its decor. There´s no outside sitting area, but we moved a couple of the complimentary beachchairs down in the driveway and that worked out just as well. The building manager had set out some complimentary welcome gifts for us upon arrival, such as a small bottle of Bacardi, bananas, milk and other niceties - very nice. A well stocked supermarked is just 5 minutes away on foot and if you want to visit the tourist Beach in Isla Verde, it´s about 10 minutes away by taxi. This rental is definitely recommendable.

Although I arrived on Friday the 13th, it was a lucky day for me. The apartment was clean and cool (which made me very happy). It has a separate bedroom and a murphy bed in the living room, so it can comfortably fit a family. Unlike other places where I have stayed, the bathroom has a tub/shower combination. Adults can have their shower (or bath) and smaller children can use the tub. The bedroom closet (plenty spacious) contained chairs, toys, and towels for the beach. I will have to admit that although I didn't go to the beach during my trip, I know it is within walking distance. Also within walking distance are some stores and restaurants. The kitchen was well stocked with appliances, utensils, and plates/cups. It had a regular-sized refrigerator and a super cute small dishwasher. The AC worked great, but the windows were slatted and opened up to great breezes. John is very accessible and hospitable. I will definitely consider staying at this apartment or any other of their properties.

Great Location, Secure & Well maintained property

Our family has stayed in this neighborhood before with another rental company. So we love the location and feel secure. As a runner, I often get up early to run before my family wakes. Even as a female, I feel safe running as the area is a 2 minute run to a community track, where several runners are already present. The police also take breaks here because of the activity and beach views. The beach is great place to cool off and take a dip after your run. The apartment was clean, well maintained and realtor was available to take our calls. Our grandchild was coming and we were able to rent a high chair and crib, which was great, because we did not want to travel with these items. We have stayed in over 8 different rentals and this one was special because not only were the normal items available, like paper towels and trash bags, but they also provided coffee (good PR coffee), bread and sandwich items among other food items. It was great that we didn't have to immediately shop upon our arrival. Another great thing was having a secure parking lot. Last time we stayed in the same neighbor with street parking, our rental car received a dent! We would recommend this rental and the realtor to our friends, family or to you. The location is only a few miles from the famous eatery, Kasalta, a 15 minute drive too Old San Juan, 5 minute walk to a nice beach and community park with track and 15 minutes from the airport.
