Had a wonderful stay at Villa Solare. Thom and Susan are very welcoming and great people! Everything is as described and even better in person. Really a beautiful place to call home for the week! Unbelievable views, fresh mangos and welcoming pets!
Beautiful property with gorgeous pool and view! It was our first time in St John and the house was perfect to get to the beaches and restaurants. The owners are super and made our stay amazing!
Our family of 4 enjoyed our stay very much. The directions to the residence was clear, the parking accommodating and the unit was clean, comfortable and fit our family well. The hosts were friendly, offered us great advice and let us use the pool whenever we wanted. The view from the pool was breathtaking and was the perfect spot after a day at the beach. We enjoyed a walk around the roads near the house to take in spectacular views. Great stay and we look forward to going again!
Stayed in the Guesthouse with my family. The owners were in the main house and they were very nice, accommodating and helpful. Susan sent me pertinent information prior to our arrival and kept me updated daily on the power outage times. They even gave us suggestions on places to go and eat. The house was very clean and in a great location.
An Unforgettable First Trip to St. John – Perfect Stay! This was our first time visiting St. John, and we couldn't have asked for a better experience. From the moment we booked, Susan was incredibly communicative—sending helpful information well in advance of our trip, including a thoughtful list of their top 10 things to do on the island, which became our go-to guide! When we arrived, Tom greeted us with such warmth and kindness. He was not only helpful, but truly one of the most welcoming hosts we’ve ever encountered. The villa itself was beautiful and very well maintained. The rooms were spotless, cozy, and perfect for relaxing after a day of exploring. One of the highlights was definitely the outdoor showers—such a unique and refreshing touch! We highly recommend this villa for anyone visiting St. John. Thanks again, Susan and Tom, for making our stay so special. We hope to return someday!
Susan Bradley was in contact with me well before I arrived on St. John. She then texted me as soon as she thought I would arrived on St. John from the ferry. She could not have been more accommodating giving us early access and making certain things went well for us. She and her husband Tom were hospitable and welcoming, along with their dog Kodak.
I would recommend this villa but would suggest a car as taxi wasn’t quite sure where villa was. That being said, the taxi driver got us there and picked us up for return trip with no problem.
My wife, our teenagers, and my mother recently stayed at the Villa Solare. Everything about this Villa is simply amazing. In the weeks and days leading up to our check in, the owners, Susan and Tom, were very informative about their location, the home, and things to do while on STJ. Upon arrival, we were greeting by both Susan and Tom. Despite our early arrival, they allowed us to keep our belongings in their home, while we went to the beach.
The guesthouse fabulous. The house was updated, super clean and refreshing. The guesthouse gives larger families privacy for all members of the party.
The grounds are lovely. You can tell that Susan and Tom take great pride in their property. There is an abundance of local flowers and trees that make you feel that you are truly on Caribbean vacation.
The views and sunsets from the pool and to die for. It's nothing better than relaxing in the infinity pool and looking out over Great Cruz Bay!
My family and I are already dreaming about going back and staying at the Villa Solare!
Thom and Susan were amazing peiple and gracious hosts. We couldn't have enjoyed our stay any more. The property was in excellent condition and truly felt like a home, not a sterile rental. We would stay at their Guest House again in a heart beat.
They provided all the linens, towels, beach towels, and beach chairs we needed. They were kind enough to offer advice as to beaches to go to, hikes to take, restaurants to eat at, and they even invited us to get a cup of coffee each morning from them at the main house they live in.
The Guest House was great for our family of 4. Downstairs was a bedroom with a King bed and a full bathroom ensuite. Upstairs (no inside stairs between downstairs and upstairs) there was another bedroom with a queen bed and a bathroom ensuite. This bathroom was unique in that there was no indoor shower, but access to a private outdoor shower through the bathroom. The bedroom was also connected to the kitchen/dining room. That area also had a full pull out sleeper sofa and another bathroom, with access to another private outdoor shower. The kitchen had a refriferator, microwave, oven/range, toaster, coffee maker, and ice maker.
The accommodations worked great for our family! We enjoyed the pool on the property and the view of the sunsets was amazing. One thing we would recommend is to rent a Jeep (or at least a 4X4) because the roads on St John are STEEP and very uneven. You won't regret having a Jeep or a Bronco.
We cant wait to go back!
