About this property
"Madison Manor I" by The River: Nice patio, hot tub, gas grill, and fire pit
This spacious Italianate townhouse is nestled in the heart of historic downtown Madison just 2 blocks from the river and steps from charming restaurants, shops, wineries, and more. Rent a golf cart and live like a local! The house is beautifully furnished with ample amenities for optimal guest comfort & convenience. The decor reflects the city’s rich train history. The home adjoins Madison Manor II which can be booked separately. Shared patio with hot tub, fire pit, gas grill, and more.
“Madison Manor I” townhouse is the south half of the house. “Madison Manor II” townhouse is the North half. They are in the same building, under the same roof, each with its own private entrance and space. The dividing walls are equipped with 2 sets of doors that lock from both sides—much like adjoining hotel rooms—and a shared laundry room that locks from both sides. If you book only one townhouse, simply keep the doors to the other side locked for your privacy and security. If you book both, simply unlock all doors from both sides to pass freely between the two. Madison Manor sleeps up to 12 guests. If you are traveling with small children, ask the host about 2 pack-n-play cribs or toddler bed, for a grand total of 15 guests. Extra fees may apply. Well behaved dogs and small pets considered at the host’s discretion. Extra fees may apply.
The house is in a nice, residential neighborhood in downtown Madison. Expect to hear sounds from the street, neighbors, guests in the other townhouse, and even nearby pets. Guests are expected to be respectful of other guests and neighbors at all times. City of Madison quiet hours are 10pm-8am. In addition, ear plugs and a Dohm white noise machine are provided for your comfort and convenience.
Upstairs on the second floor, there are 2 bedrooms with super comfy queen beds and a full bath with a shower. The front bedroom has a memory foam mattress and a 31” Roku TV. The back bedroom has a Tuft and Needle mattress and a 31” Roku TV. Ear plugs and a Dohm white noise machine are provided for your comfort and convenience.
Downstairs, there is a living room, dine-in kitchen, and game room. There is also a shared laundry room between the townhouses, accessed from the back hallway. For your security, keep the door locked at all times when not using the laundry room.
The downstairs bedroom is a unique pass-through room off the main hallway with twin bunkbeds and an en suite full bath. An array of train books, including one about Madison's famous "Reuben Wells" locomotive, will delight all ages. The pass thru serves as a hallway connecting the living room and kitchen via open doorways on one side of the bedroom. For this reason, this bedroom may be best suited for children, as the pass thru does not have doors to close off for full privacy.
The living room has a 42” Roku TV and seating for 5 with extra chairs in the alcove. The kitchen has a refrigerator with freezer, tabletop stove/hot plate with 2 burners, toaster oven, coffeemaker, cookbooks for both the toaster-oven and microwave, pantry essentials, pots and pans, and more--everything you need to get cooking!
Unplug in the game room with fun for the whole family! There is a multi-game table with air hockey, miniature pool, and miniature ping pong, as well as numerous card and board games like Madisonopoly and Ticket to Ride. A space heater is provided for your comfort and convenience.
The shared patio has a hot tub, grill, fire pit, outdoor eating area, and ample seating.
+++ Madison Manor offers all the extra "special touches" to help make your stay the best it can be: snacks, chilled sparkling water, bed trays with chocolate and LED candles, ear plugs, Dohm white noise machine, local coffee, toiletries including all the essentials, shampoo, conditioner, charging stations, and more +++
**We practice enhanced cleaning protocols** All In Bloom Rentals staff are trained to ensure a "spotless and sparkling" stay, but now they are also required to complete additional sanitizing steps, including a Lysol-brand fragrance- and dye-free sanitizer designed specifically for bed and bath linens. Stay well!

About the host
Hosted by Cyndi Johnson

I am originally from Austin, Indiana but now reside in Bloomington with my husband, a professor at Indiana University in Earth and Atmospheric Sciences, and daughters. I was a public school teacher for many years.
I first got into hosting during the pandemic when I lost my job working with The Arc of Indiana and decided to become my own boss. I needed a great deal of flexibility to provide educational support to my 3 children (at the time--an 8th grader with learning disabilities, a 6th grader with Down syndrome, and a precocious 3rd grader), so it was essential that I be able to take my kids to work with me and set my own hours.
We took out equity in our home to buy a charming 1900s cottage on iconic Kirkwood Ave near IU. It went so well that we sold it as an investment property and I continued to host it.
Now I host a small portfolio of properties in 2 of the most historic cities in Indiana: Bloomington and Madison. I still own 2 properties and host for others. Madison Manor is our dream home. We hope to retire there in one townhouse and rent the other.

Why they chose this property
My husband and I have long wanted a historic home, and Madison Manor delivers! Built in 1870 in the largest contiguous national historic district, this home is perfect!
What makes this property unique
This townhome is just 2 blocks from the Ohio River and in the heart of downtown Madison. It is bookable by itself, or with the adjoining Madison Manor II. For a larger group, book both sides and have all the space you need for up to 12 guests.
