An attempt to mask the smell with plug-in Febreeze air freshners made it smell even worse. Smell in the upstairs middle room was so bad that the bedroom was inhabitable. Basement bedroom smelled like sewage sometimes, possibly due to improper venting of the connected bathroom's plumbing. I made sure to keep P-traps full of water(if installed), but that didn't help. The couches were made of fabric and smelly too. Had to use our own blankets as covers to mask the smell. Nonetheless, the couches were comfortable.Cleanliness-The house did not feel the cleanest. Maybe it sat for a bit before we got there but some horizontal surfaces had a layer of dust on them (eg livingroom table under TV). I had to clean the dishwasher filter for it to drain properly. There was a used tissue between the wall and bunkbed headboard. A lot of the walls/doors had dark streaks on them from what seemed like contact from dirty hands of previous tennants.Overall a good stay minus the shortcomings in cleanliness.
