About this property
Ideal Historic Home in Essex Village
Welcome to your opportunity to live the village life and stay in the heart of Essex Village. This is the first time a vacation rental home on Main St in Essex, CT has been listed on Airbnb.
Chosen as the best small town in America by Norman Crampton in his book, The 100 Best Small Towns in America. Essex also appears in 1000 Places to Visit Before You Die.
Located on the Connecticut River, this friendly New England community has been welcoming travelers since before the American Revolution.
The space
Gorgeous year-round, I don’t know which season I prefer to spend in this house; the cozy winters, stunning autumn, floral spring or care-free summers!
This tastefully refurbished home has brought all its 1820’s charm into to the 21st century. Built-in bookcases, hand carved banisters and beautiful wood floors throughout, exceptional craftsmanship is evident everywhere you look. Pure New England charm.
The updated kitchen boasts original wood cabinets and is located at the back of the house, perfect for making lunch to take out to the back patio or preparing memorable dinners for the adjacent dining room. One half-bath downstairs.
Upstairs you will find a full bath, well stocked with the essentials. Both bedrooms upstairs are comfy and bright. The master has a King bed and overlooks the marina. The second bedroom has two twin beds and faces Main St.
Central air & baseboard heating make it easy to be comfortable & in control of the climate here all year round. This home showcases five non-functioning fireplaces, each constructed with hand-turned mill work.
The backyard is large and private, plenty of room for kids of all ages to play games or watch our famously spectacular sunsets over the Connecticut River.
Guest access
Parking is located at the side of the house, enough room for two cars. Street parking is also abundantly available.
