Is a blend of tropical and contemporary architectural styles, designed to take advantage of the stunning natural surroundings, with large windows and open spaces allowing for plenty of fresh air and natural light.

The space
One of the highlights of Casa Mare Blu is the outdoor living space. You'll find expansive terraces with comfortable seating and dining areas, perfect for enjoying meals or simply relaxing while taking in the breathtaking views of the lush tropical vegetation by the pool
The wildlife is abundant, and it's not uncommon to spot howler monkeys, toucans, iguanas , and colorful butterflies right from the property.
Casa Mare Blu is an open concept home, which means the private roofless pool is in the middle of the house

We want you to enjoy a unique experience in our home, located in a peaceful and natural environment. The house has an original open-concept design where you can immerse yourself in nature and hear the typical sounds of rural Tamarindo, such as birds, monkeys, horses, dogs, cows, iguannas, frogs, and other animals. Thanks to its open design, the house is very airy and filled with abundant natural light.

There is a security team that monitors the gated community from 6pm to 6am.
Events or parties are not allowed, nor noise after 10pm, to respect the neighborhood’s rules and regulations. Not abiding by this rule may result in a fine.
The property has a water filtration system and is safe to drink.
The TV is a Smart TV (w/ Netflix) and may be used with streaming applications from the internet, such as Netflix. We also have a portable speaker and board games for your use.
Pets are not permitted at this property.
Although we fumigate regularly, the property is located in a tropical climate and although rare, you may spot ants, or other critters. Please do not be alarmed as it is normal in our region.
The pool temperature is naturally regulated by the warm climate of Tamarindo, Guanacaste. Since the pool is not heated, the water temperature may fluctuate depending on weather conditions such as sunlight, wind, and ambient temperature.
The beach is open all day. Tamarindo is a great beach to learn to surf, to watch sunsets, and or to enjoy entertainment, shops, and restaurants.

Our region of Costa Rica is safe, but you should always be cautious with your belongings. Never leave valuables unattended, and should use the house system alarm.

Please treat the property with respect and try to keep it clean. We aim to conserve energy, so please turn off the air conditioning when not in use. While using the air conditioning, please keep the windows and doors shut.

This place is beautiful! Great location about 10 mins from the main strip. Plenty of space, well stocked, quality furnishings, great court yard, great appliances and bbq. The pool is clean and great size. A little cool but when it’s rippin hot out you need it. The bedrooms have their own bathrooms and showers. The beds are comfortable and everything is super clean. Check in to check out was seamless. Very very professional. I would highly recommend.

The host was very welcoming and the home matched the pictures. We did however have an issue with locking the master bedroom door which is an outside door that could not be resolved during our short stay. A bathroom outlet was tripped using just the hairdryer. A sheet in the middle room was stained upon our arrival and the two guests washed the sheet and the stain did come out. The pool was refreshing and well maintained.

Great beach area home

This home is great for couples or a family wanting a beach getaway but not in the middle of the action. The home is beautiful, exactly as described, and our host was very responsive. Many restaurants and groceries nearby and the home has everything a family needs we enjoyed it.

There are dogs that do bark near the house (I think each review says this) but out of property owners control. Overall fantastic house.

Gorgeous house near Tamarindo

The house was great and looked like it did in the pictures! Two negatives that we had while staying there were the constant barking from neighbouring dogs. For the light sleepers in our family, this was a problem! The other negative would be the temperature of the pool. I’m assuming it’s because it’s well shaded because it was 33 to 35 degrees Celsius while we were there.

Amazing, incredible

Our stay at this beach house was absolutely incredible! The stunning location close to the beaches of Tamarindo and Avellanas in Guanacaste, combined with the spectacular pool, created the perfect backdrop for an unforgettable vacation. We enjoyed a delightful evening with friends, grilling a delicious barbecue by the pool, and later, gathering around a cozy bonfire to roast marshmallows. The luxury amenities of the house exceeded our expectations, it was even more charming than the pictures. The host was exceptionally welcoming and provided fantastic local tips, making our stay truly memorable. This experience was a true paradise, and we can't wait to return for another memorable getaway!

Perfect Pura Vida Family Reunion

Casa Mare Blu was the ideal accommodation for our small family reunion which included both seniors and a teenager. We all had comfortable, private rooms with AC plus plenty of hang out space to be together. The pool is kept spotless and the lights are lovely at night time. We thoroughly enjoyed the excellent BBQ facilities & dedicated wine fridge. Tamarindo is an easy 10 minute drive away as are grocery stores. Ana, the host, was super easy and prompt to communicate with, answering any queries we had within minutes. The neighbourhood is quiet and the property is a welcome comfort to come home to after a day of exploring. Look and listen out for the Trogons and the Magpie Jays in the trees around the property in the mornings!

Exceptionally Clean Home with Friendly & Responsive Host!

We had a great stay overall! The property was super clean, with no bugs, and the A/C units worked perfectly throughout the house. The kitchen was fully stocked with all the utensils and supplies we needed, and the pool was spotless and the perfect temperature. The gated community felt very safe, with a security guard on duty overnight, who even helped us change a flat tire. The house host was also extremely friendly, helpful, and responsive.There were a few minor drawbacks and while none of these were deal breakers for us, they are minor details that other guests may want to be aware of when booking: The room locks could be a nuisance, with individual keys that often got stuck. The road to the house is unpaved, so we wouldn’t recommend bringing a car unless it has high clearance. The washer didn’t clean clothes well, the mattress in the master bedroom was quite firm, and the neighborhood dogs barked frequently, especially at night.Overall we had a wonderful stay and we'd absolutely recommend this place to others.

We had an absolutely incredible time at Casa Mare Blu From the moment we arrived, we were blown away by the amenities and thoughtful details. The highlight for us was definitely the stunning pool area. It felt like our own private oasis, perfect for lazy afternoons and refreshing morning swims. The outdoor grill and fire pit were a delightful bonus - we enjoyed BBQs and toasted marshmallows under the starry sky. The location couldn't have been better. With supermarkets and fantastic restaurants just a stone's throw away, we never had to go far for anything we needed. The beach is a mere 8-minute drive, making it incredibly convenient for those sun-soaked days by the ocean. The house itself is beautifully designed, with spacious and comfortable rooms that made us feel right at home. The attention to detail in the decor and furnishings really sets this place apart. The hosts were amazing, providing excellent communication and ensuring we had everything we needed for a seamless stay.

AMAZING!!!

My older teenager is a whiz at finding cool VRBO, and this one did not disappoint. The beauty of in/outdoor living of Costa Rica was defined perfectly with this home. Close to Tamarindo Beach and 30 minutes from every secluded beach we were on the hunt for. The property manager was great from start to finish, and we could not have asked for more. Helpful hints.... Grocery shopping was slightly challenging until we found Auto Mercado. This was a must for finding more American-made food products, as we had three teenagers with us. Black Stallion Ranch (literally half a mile up the road) was fantastic for zip-lining and ATV riding; they were very friendly and very reasonable (one of our favorite days). There was a great pizza carry-out place right down the road (first plaza on the left, just past the paved road when exiting the development) for after a long day, and when you don't want to cook.Dragonfly restaurant as recommended in the book was fabulous.Thursday night Tamarindo Market was a lot of fun don't miss out.Tamarindo Beach sunsets are PERFECT! Bring a bottle of wine and enjoy.Kudos to Ana and her lovely home! I would recommend this home to anyone wanting the full Costa Rica experience. We will definitel be back.Thank you for the memories. Pura Vida!

The property was terrific! The pool was a blast and the premises were clean, organized, and exceeded expectations. Ana and her team were on top of the several minor issues that arose and I would give this property a full ten stars out of ten. There is one issue however I have to mention or this would not be an honest review. On the other side of the road behind the house are several local homes. There seem to be anywhere from ten to twenty dogs (or more) at these houses. These dogs bark and howl at all hours of the day and night. They clearly don't have a schedule and their owners make no attempt to control them. I will say that we're going back to this house but I would suggest that you sleep with your glass doors closed and perhaps even bring ear plugs. Closing the doors at night helps a lot. And one could consider all this just a part of the Cost Rican experience. It certainly wouldn't have been a deal breaker for us. But I think it's appropriate that you be aware of the issue.
