Welcome to the Shore Thing! Located in beautiful Harbor Shores and by the beach

Located in the community of Harbor Shores, this home is nestled in a quiet community between the Harbor Shores golf course, Paw Paw river and Lake Michigan. Jean Klock beach is a block away. This home is less than 2 miles from downtown St. Joseph, a mile from downtown Benton Harbor and has many wineries and breweries nearby. Cozy and beautifully decorated, this home is perfect for families, golf trips, girls trips, or a couples retreat! Relax and recharge at the Shore Thing!

The space

Our home features two primary bedrooms with ensuite bathrooms. One of the primary bedrooms has a desk if you need a place to work with a view of the Paw Paw river. We have a basement with two twin beds and a daybed with a trundle (please note that the basement does not have a door). We store extra chairs under one of the twin beds, and extra comforters under the other... just in case you’re looking for them. The basement has it’s own full bathroom, too. All of our bedrooms feature alarm clocks that duo as a white noise machine which can be helpful to get some extra rest!

Our family room has two comfy couches and a chair, and our kitchen is well stocked! Our dining room table comfortably fits six. If you’re in the mood to dine al fresca, we have a patio with a gas grill and outdoor dining table that also sits six. Our back porch overlooks the 6th hole of the Harbor Shores, a Jack Nicklaus golf course, with a love seat and two chairs to enjoy the view.

You will find beach gear and bikes in our garage that you are welcome to use during your stay. We even have an outdoor shower to hose yourself off after a day of having fun outdoors! We have toys for the kids and board games for the entire family, as well as a selection of books for all ages. We also keep a pack and play and highchair in the bedroom closet upstairs.

We provide the following for your convenience: dish sponge, dish soap, 5 dishwasher pods, 5 laundry pods, dryer sheets, 5 trash bags, and a roll of paper towels. Each bathroom has 2 rolls of toilet paper, shampoo, conditioner, body wash, a hair dryer, q-tips and cotton swabs. We provide all linens, bath towels and beach towels for your stay.

Other things to note -

Our home owners association requires bookings at least 10 days in advance.

You must park in our driveway and garage as our community does not allow street parking for renters... and we don't want you to get towed :)

Renters may not use the community firepit.

We do not accept reservations for bachelor or bachelorette parties.
Our prices include all fees. No hidden fees.

Very happy with our stay. We were in town for a wedding and appreciated the location, the thoughtful amenities for beach outings, and the kid-friendly area in the basement with toys. The kitchen and grill were perfect to make meals for us. The complex is quiet and connected to nice walking trails. Communication with the hosts was quick, efficient, and clear. If we find ourselves in the area again, we would love to stay here!

Perfect home for our family vacation of 6. Spent a lot of time at the beach and couldn't be more pleased with all the beach gear that was made available to us to keep us comfortable and shaded from the sun. Great communication from the hosts and the house was exceptionally clean and stocked with all the necessary amenities. Everyone in our group enjoyed our stay and would love to return again.

Came For a Class Reunion - Will Definitely Be Back

The place was perfect for our friends and my wife and I. Spacious enough to get away to read if one wished but great for lounging together. It felt very much like home - breakfast in PJs and shoes kicked off in the evening to watch TV. A walk to the beach put icing on the cake.

Beautiful home in a nice area and conveniently located. Perfect house for a family of 5 to spend the weekend. The home was clean, and the layout was such that we could all have space but also easily gather. The house was well stocked with everything you could need and it was a very comfortable place to relax. Short drive to silver beach and short walk to jean klock beach. This was our second time staying at this home but the the first time with the new owners. Megan and Lauren gave us all the informaton we needed and were eager to address any concerns or problems (though we had none.) Would recommend and would definitely book again!

Our 1st Anniversary Celebration

We got married in St. Joe last year and wanted to return for our anniversary. The week of our wedding, we stayed with all of our teenage/young adult kids in this neighborhood in a house with the same layout and LOVED it and wanted to stay here again. This home is extremely clean and very well appointed. The bedding and bed in the master are exceptionally comfortable, as are the couches in the living room. The kitchen is well equipped. We enjoyed sitting on the front porch also. You can’t beat this location! We were less than a 10 minute drive from everything. We rode our bikes to Jean Klock Park and to downtown St. Joe. There are tons of walking trails within Harbor Shores.There were bikes and beach gear in the garage and tons of beach towels available if you visit in the summer. The hosts are very nice and very responsive. They kindly left us a gift for our anniversary. I highly recommend their beautiful rental home.

Why they chose this property

We are located in the Trailside community of Harbor Shores, which is very laid back and away from the hustle and bustle of Silver Beach. We are only a couple of minutes (by car) away from downtown St. Joseph if we want a little bit more action :) Our home is a block away from the entrance to Jean Klock beach park, which is a little slice of heaven for Southwest Michigan beaches. We have local restaurants and breweries a mile away, and it's a close knit community feel.

What makes this property unique

Our home is nestled between the Harbor Shores golf course (we look out to the 6th hole), a block from Jean Klock Beach Park's entrance and our front yard is on the Paw Paw River. The Shore Thing is beautifully decorated and designed to provide a comfortable space for families.
