Fantastic Family City Break

Well laid out apartment, perfect size for us as a family of four, well stocked with most things - even dishwasher tabs and detergent. Anything you do need is also simple with a supermarket, bakery and other shops within 2 blocks. The location is within easy walking distance of the arc de triomphe, sagrada familia and just over 15mins from Casa Batllo and Las Ramblas but slightly out from the really busy areas with no noise at night. Anywhere further afield is easy to get to by metro, which is also just a few minutes walk - as are a number of great restaurants to try (which we did!). Chelo herself was extremely helpful when we arrived and all the directions etc worked well with no trouble getting to and from the airport by Taxi - she even dropped us a note to let us know about a bank holiday when shops would be closed! Overall we had a great stay, we were even lucky with the weather, and certainly had no issues with the recent Catalan independence protests at any time of day or night when travelling round Barcelona. We happened to stay over Halloween and one of the other apartments organised and invited our kids to join in with trick or treating - a lovely surprise which they really enjoyed - "truco o trato"! Wouldn't hesitate to recommend to others thinking about heading over.

Superb accommodation and convenient located

We were met by Chelo, (who is to be commended on her English)at a prearranged time and location following detailed text messages days before our arrival. Unlike other accommodation arrival time is flexible so no waiting around with suitcases. Chelo gave a very detailed tour of the flat and its facilities along with advice on local shopping, transportation, popular sights and restaurants all pointed out on a provided map. This is a fantastic 2 bedroom well provisioned flat located on the 3rd floor that is serviced by 2 lifts. Entry is off a minor road via a secure entry door. A very quiet well furnished flat, idea for a family of 4 although there is a sofa bed within the lounge if required. Some welcome pack items were supplied however as personal preferences prevail a visit to the local supper market is recommended to purchase family specifics and essentials. The supper markets within the area cater for all tastes and are well stocked, beware of the bakeries and coffee shops on the way they will distract you!!!! Local transport, Metro and buses, are within easy walking distance. We chose to use the Metro (L9 Sud) route from the airport to Arc de Triomf Metro station changing at Torrassa station to the L1 train. Depending on your mobility this is very easy, escalators and lifts are in abundance and the routes are easily marked. The trains, very modern walk through types, display electronic routes above the doors so you know exactly which station is coming up. We purchased the travel card on the net and collected them at the Terminal 2 ticket machine. Be aware the walk from terminal 2C to the Metro is around 15 mins, follow the Metro signs. In summary we were well pleased with this accommodation, it was very clean, spacious, well furnished and with all new white goods and cooking appliances. Its central location gives access to all the sights. If you like walking then this is a great way to get around and see the local areas. Bottom line, would I go back? A resounding Yes. Thank you Chelo for your hospitality and use of this superb flat.

Great apartment. Fantastic host.

Lovely, clean, spacious apartment. Perfect for our family of four (with 2 teenagers). Chelo was the perfect host. Really helpful in the run-up to our visit, especially with information about the demonstrations taking place on the day of our arrival ... to the point of emailing Metro instructions and meeting us & escorting us to the apartment. Due to our late evening arrival, Chelo even provided us with some food for the evening. The apartment was perfectly located for all of the sights in the city centre but was wonderfully quiet. Chelo went through the tourist map with us and marked out the bus stops and metro stations & routes for all of the sights. We can't recommend the apartment or Chelo highly enough. The apartment is perfect for a family visiting Barcelona and we will definitely be coming back next year. Thank Chelo for a wonderful pre-Christmas break.

Great location but needs a bit of updating.

First the good news. The flat is in a great location near many of the tourist sites. It is in an area well served by good restaurants, and a great deli/supermarket round the corner where we had our breakfast. It is light, quiet (but see below) and has a lift to the third floor. The downsides are that the second bedroom is very small with no drawers and nothing except one hanging rail so our clothes had to be laid out on the floor. The apartment was very hot - but we found out on leaving that there was aircon but we had not been told about it. Finally, and not the fault of the flat, was that there was a very noisy communal aircon unit on the ground floor. Having said all that we enjoyed our stay.

Wonderful apartment in great location

This is a really lovely apartment in a great location, very convenient for the city centre. It is quite close to Arc de Triomf and just a 2 minute walk from Tetuan Metro station. There are supermarkets and plenty of good bars and restaurants etc nearby. The apartment has a large main open plan living and dining room, good sized double bedroom, shower room and a twin bedroom. The twin room is quite small but was adequate for our two teenagers and all their stuff. It is really clean and very well appointed with a modern kitchen and bathroom. There is everything you would need for your stay and the air conditioning was great to keep us cool in the heat, and good wifi too. Finally we have to say a few words about Chelo. She was so helpful, including helping us find our way to the apartment from the airport as we arrived during a taxi strike. She also booked a taxi for us to go back to the airport. All the way through the booking process she was helpful and efficient. Thank you Chelo. We would highly recommend this apartment and would have no hesitation in booking it again ourselves should we return to Barcelona.

Great choice in Barcelona

Chelo's apartment is a modern, comfortable and very quiet place to stay in Barcelona. It is also well located as it is a few minutes walk to two metro stations (on different lines), a train station and bus stops. It's also an easy walk to Plaza Catalunya and La Sagrada Familia. Chelo welcomed us on our arrival and spent considerable time explaining where shops and public transport were located. She also farewelled us and made sure that our taxi had arrived before saying goodbye. She was a wonderful host and I highly recommend her apartment.

Beautiful stay in Barcelona

Overall our stay was wonderful. It wasn’t quite as clean as we would have hoped when we arrived but Chelo was wonderful and responsive and came by and cleaned the apartment beautifully. It’s a lovely apartment. Only drawback for us was the double bed. Too small for us so part of the stay my husband slept in the second bedroom. Also in the living room there is really only a couch so it’s not so comfortable for hanging out. For most people that would be fine because short term travelers won’t do much hanging out but we were there for two weeks so a couple of times it would have been nice to have a more comfortable living room space to sit in. I would recommend that they get another comfortable chair for in there. Other than that it was great. Chelo was wonderful… always responsive, informative, and kind. Great location. Central to most things. Safe apartment building. Fabulous cafes on surrounding blocks.

AMAZING PLACE AND LOCATION

I booked this place because of the great reviews I had read from previous renters and let me tell you… they did not miss. Chelo was fantastic from A to Z. The communication was excellent and she was more than accommodation and resourceful. The place was very clean and well organized. We were walking distance from most attractions and if not then public transport was really close. There are some great restaurants around the area and even coffee shops. I would recommended this place to anyone looking to visit Barcelona. The price was very good also.

Lovely apartment with ideal location for exploring Barcelona

This property was the perfect base for our 5-day stay in Barcelona. The flat is on a quiet street very close to Metro & bus lines, as well as many restaurants, bakeries, food stores. Also an easy walk to Passeig de Grácia, Gothic Cathedral or Sagrada Familia. The flat itself is impeccably clean, roomy and quiet, with a lovely interior courtyard. The owner was always available and very welcoming. I would definitely return to this property. It was a pleasure staying there!

Wonderful property and manager

Fabulous location near public transportaton, restaurants, groceries, etc. Apartment was well set up for all of our needs and felt clean and well cared for. Cooked breakfasts and a few dinners and found everything we needed. Nice to have a washer too. Chelo was very helpful before our visit and when greeting us. She was prompt and went to great length to ensure we knew about holiday closures, where to access groceries, how to take public transportation and even called a cab for us the day we departed, as well as provided a map and hilighted some sights upon our arrival. Only thing that could have been improved was shower needs new caulk (a bit moldy at this point and beyond cleaning). I pointed this out, so hopefully it will be addressed in the future. Didn't get in the way of having a great stay and we would return. Highly recommend this apartment, the owner and Barcelona.

Exceptional property in perfect location

This spacious, super clean two bedroom apartment with full kitchen, dishwasher and washing machine, was ideally situated in a safe, quiet residential area. It has lots of closet space and hangers. The bathroom is modern with a great shower. There are many restaurants, shops, supermarkets located within blocks of the apartment. Conveniently located a five minute walk away was the Tetuan Metro station. The building is very secure. Chelo met us upon arrival and demonstrated everything about the apartment and gave us lots of information about local restaurants and a local supermarket that has everything you could need. She made herself available at any time if problems arose but we encountered no issues at all. She even went so far as to insure that a taxi was available at the time of our checkout. We can't say enough good things about the apartment or Chelo.

Barcelona by train

There is reason why all the reviewers cite Chelo so highly in their comments, she absolutely is a great hostess. The apartment is really well located to everything we wanted to see. Quiet family friendly building and very secure. Had a few interactions with other tenants' all very pleasant. I'm sure we stuck out as not local, but we were treated just the same as if we belonged. Elevators were a nice option, we opted for the stairs most days. We cooked a couple of times during our stay and found everything needed to make a home cooked meal. We certainly would stay here again, the charm of this neighborhood flat and its wonderful hostess will remain in our fond memories of Barcelona. Thank You for having us!

Comfortable apartment in a great neighborhood

We loved the apartment. There was a pleasant breeze coming through the windows most days. AC was also available. It was exceptionally quiet. The neighborhood was more relaxed than Plaza Catalonia ( a 15 minute walk where the hop on/off buses are) with many nice sidewalk cafes. You can also walk to Sagrada Familia and the Arc de Triumph. Chello was very helpful and easy to keep in touch with.

Emplacement idéal et appartement impeccable

Nous avons eu un super séjour chez Chelo. L’accueil par Chelo et sa disponibilité étaient super, l’appartement super confortable incluant les lits, super bien situé. Nous avons tout fait à pied pour les attraits touristiques et même quand nous étions fatigués il y avaient pleins de bons restos et de cafés tout autour. Je retournerai sans hésiter!
