Such an amazing home with such a kind host! It is very close to downtown, a sweet quiet neighborhood and so warm and comfortable, which is so important in the wintery days of March in Ithaca! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, and would love to stay again when we get to visit our kid in college another time. Thanks!

Thank you for the review!
It's great that Paddock House worked well for your college visit.
With kind regards,
Michael
We enjoyed staying in this nicely kept home with our family. The house was very comfortable. Michael, the host, was helpful in a nice low key and friendly way. Our ambitious Thanksgiving cooking plans strained the vintage kitchen but we pulled it off, and brought delicious food to our big family gathering. One day we had 2 inches of snow and blue sky, and savored our coffee in the morning looking out the windows. Definitely had a nice time.
Safe quiet neighbourhood. Lovely old house. In pristine condition. Michael was a great host, collected us from bus and brought our 25 kg bags to house. Good communication from Michael ensuring our stay was pleasant. Everything was perfect. Highly recommend Paddocks.

Paddock house was a lovely, comfortable, and spotlessly clean vacation home in a quiet neighborhood in downtown Ithaca. The host Michael was accessible and helpful. The location is great for families - walking distance to restaurants, playgrounds, and museums. Would stay here again!

Paddock House was really nice for our family vacation (2 adults, 2 kids under 8). The location can’t be beat! We were close to everything and appreciated the walkable neighborhood. Michael was super attentive and checked in to make sure we had everything we needed. We would highly recommend. Stay here!
Paddock House is an amazing rental property in the heart of Ithaca. Perfect neighborhood accessible to most of the key attractions. Ithaca falls is a few minutes walk and we thoroughly enjoyed staying at this property.Though the house is old but it was maintained in a great condition, all rooms were clean and appreciate the owners for taking good care. We would consider this property if we have to come back to Ithaca.
Host Michael was extremely helpful in assisting us with special needs during our stay. He went above and beyond with preparation for our stay and was very communicative before and during our visit. Highly recommend!
We had a wonderful time staying at the Paddock house! Michael has really taken the time to think of everything that you might need during your stay and was very kind and accommodating. We ended up checking out an hour late because we had left our car at the wedding venue we attended and Michael was very kind about us leaving late. (sorry again Michael!)We lived in Ithaca for four years and have stayed in quite a few vacation rentals when we come back to visit, but this one really stands out! The rental was the fenced in yard for the dogs. The backyard is huge and secure and our dogs had so much fun running laps.
House was perfect for what we needed, great backyard for dogs and loved the short walk to Ithaca Falls Quiet, tree-lined street. Michael was a great host, very easy to work with and great communication

Thank you Lisa. I enjoyed hosting you and your family
We loved our stay. Michael was a great host - he was helpfully communicative, and everything was extremely clean and prepared. The home was perfect for our group of 3. The location was phenomenal, quiet and private but within a 5 min drive or 20 min walk of both downtown and Cornell university. Being a few streets away from the beautiful fall creek gorge and falls was an additional perk!
I would absolutely rent this property again in the future.

We're glad you enjoyed Paddock House and we appreciated renewing our Cornell connections. Hope to see you again soon. Michael
Quaint 1920's Ithaca home with lots of original charm. Very thoughtfully appointed. Host is great - communicative, responsive, kind. Easy walk to coffee, food, and the falls. There is a ramp leading out to the backyard which was great for our elderly dog. We stayed there with our 4yr old son and he had a blast; he's still talking about "the vacation house" days later.
The property was nice and comfortable. Fairly close to places we wanted to go. Fenced in backyard for our dogs. Michael gave us some tips on navigating popular spots.
We had internet/tv issues so movies and football were nearly impossible to watch. Micheal tried to remedy it. Cell service also spotty here.

Patty. I am glad you enjoyed your stay. I've checked the internet with the ISP and upgraded their equipment. I HOpe to see you again soon!
We had an awesome stay at Paddock House. Michael is a fantastic communicator—clear, detailed, responsive, and courteous. He even dropped off some lovely baked goods as we were checking out.
The house was wonderful—very homey, clean, comfortable, and well equipped. It's a quaint old house that has a nice balance of antique touches and modern conveniences. We used the kitchen to cook meals, enjoyed the fast WiFi, and appreciated the high-quality linens.
The location was incredible for Ithaca attractions, such as the farmer's market, great hikes, lake activities, and more.
For the four of us, it was also an excellent value. We would definitely come stay here again.

This is one of the best hosted VRBOs that I have stayed in. It is not necessarily the most updated interior, but the quality of the hosting far out-shadows the vintage kitchen. There were thoughtful touches everywhere -- good quality local coffee and half and half in the refrigerator, ample plugs for phone/smart watch chargers in the bedrooms, storage units for toiletries in the bathroom, and more. It is clear that Michael has given careful thought to what is needed for a comfortable stay -- and he provided helpful input regarding possible activities for the stay. Just an excellent job.I was accompanied by my small dog -- who really liked the fenced in yard with the dog ramp -- and it was so nice not to have to use a leash to go outside. On the flip side, I tried out VRBO's AI assistant for trip planning. It helpfully suggested the Ithaca Farmer's Market for Thursday (the market is open on Saturdays) and it recommended an interesting event (that took place two months prior). The AI assistant is not quite ready for prime time.
Quaint home in lovely historic Fall Creek; close to everything
Paddock House is a restored older home in the historic Fall Creek section of Ithaca. Easy parking in the driveway. The house is located on a quiet, tree-lined street with many charming homes; the neighborhood overall has an artistic, bohemian vibe and is very walk-able. It was an easy (and flat) walk to lovely Ithaca Falls, coffee shop, restaurant and Farmers Market, and was an easy drive to main streets connecting to downtown Ithaca, Cornell, and Cayuga Lake. Inside, the home has an eclectic mix of old as well as modern furniture. Beds were very comfortable, with high-end linens & towels. We didn't cook during our visit, but the kitchen appeared to be equipped with all the equipment needed. The fenced-in back yard was great for our dog! Owner Michael was extremely responsive and was super-helpful in sharing ideas on places to go in the area. We did run into some challenges with WiFi connectivity, but Michael helped with a short-term fix and he is working on a longer-term solution. The outside weather dropped to mid-30s for 2 of the nights we were there and upstairs did get cold, but it was comfortable once outside temps returned to 'normal'. Overall it was a fun place to stay for our visit to the Fingerlakes region!

I grew up in Upstate NY and love the four full seasons we get here. I enjoy outdoor activities of all sorts and like to travel. I also am engaged in my hometown. ... It is changing some but I think for the better. I Love Ithaca.
Why they chose this property
I have lived in Fall Creek for 30 years. It's supremely walkable, historically significant, full of kind spirited community-based individuals and families. Great place to live and love.
What makes this property unique
The Paddock House is a hundred years old and has great vibes. There's a lot of loving care visible throughout the home and I've worked to sustain that. We're in a close-knit neighborhood; it's a Perfect Location for being close to nature and close to community. Ya gotta love it!
