Besides from no toilet on first floor, no switch at bottom of stair, and harder than normal pillows, and a brief windstorm that blew some chairs off the lower deck we had a spectacular time and really overall one of our best stays ever at a VRBO.

A beautiful setting. Great spots for viewing the lake inside and out. Flexible sleeping. Well stocked kitchen. Bathrooms that of a cottage, definitely sufficient. Four good gathering spaces. Well stocked with books and games. Easy to communicate with just, though we had no problems. So we didn’t need to! We appreciate the opportunity to have stayed here very much.

My family greatly enjoyed our stay at the cottage. The property is a fun mix of updated and classic amenities. The bunk house was perfect for the youngsters. Melanie was attentive to our needs with good communication. The neighbors were friendly. The visits by the humming birds were a treat. Use care when driving the last 1/4 mile of road in to the property.

Beach side

Great place for the family! plenty of water activities(from playing in the lake to Kayaking in the creek). Very relaxing -complete thumbs up,,,, The kids will not be bored.

This was by far the best beach vacation we have had! The main cottage is charming and clean - the upstairs (kitchen and living space with balcony) was recently renovated and it's gorgeous! We had our morning coffee and nightime tea outside watching the sun. The beach is just steps away from the cottage so it was very convenient and the water was so clean and refreshing! There is even a small shower along the path to wash off the sand. There are 2 other "buildings" on the property that you can use - our teenage sons had their own space and they loved it! We got to bring our little dog so that really added to the family vacation! The host is absolutely great - she was kind, informative, and very communicate before, during, and even after our stay. We recommend the Huckleberry Hideaway - a true gem in Montague, right on the beach!

Prefect family beachfront stay

Beautiful views of lake Michigan and a cozy cabin vibe inside. Everything we needed to have fun family memories. The bunk house was fun, my son loved the game room, and the access to the water was fantastic. Peaceful, fun, and relaxing. Would love to stay again.

Lovely Long Weekend

While the weather did not want to cooperate, we had a lovely stay at this property. Communication with the owner was excellent. The main house is cozy and we enjoyed the added pool room. Bathrooms are tight but everything you need is available. Being right on the lake is 10/10.

Huckleberry Hideaway Summer Vacay

Perfect cottage life on the lake with a great beach and everything you could need or want (even some things you didn’t know you needed…I forgot my toothbrush and they had a neat little box for items that you may have forgotten, so I was covered!). Great property management and property was exactly as stated Off the beaten path and a lot of stairs (maybe not for the faint of heart when it comes to lugging your things up), but it was just what the family needed! If we stay at Lake Michigan again, we’ll for sure see if this is available!

A little slice of heaven with a lot to offer

We love to vacation as a family and to be able to include our water loving dog on this one was extra special. A unique cottage with history and nearby towns with so much going on. We shared dinner and sunsets with family and friends. Took morning and evening walks and met very nice neighbors. The humming birds around the upper deck and the nearby eagle with his morning catch was a real treat. The beach and sparkling water provided group relaxation and many great naps and beach play. We played table pool, biked and even scheduled a local fishing charter which resulted in a cooler full of salmon to bring back to the city. Thank you for sharing your cottage and providing us with so many extras that made our stay relaxing, fun and easy.
