We were a little disappointed to see a four-star review, especially since we weren't made aware of any issues during your stay and no feedback was provided about what we could have improved. Our assumption is that you did have a nice stay and think a 4 star review is good. For future guests who may be reading this, we wish booking platforms did a better job of explaining their rating systems. While four stars may seem like a great rating, anything less than five stars can actually hurt a property's overall rating and visibility. Unfortunately, these platforms don't view four stars the same way most people do. We work very hard to provide every guest with a five-star experience. Thank you for the feedback and for noting that the home was clean, comfortable, and that you were pleased overall. We do want to clarify that the gutters are equipped with gutter guards. During certain times of year, especially with the surrounding pine trees, pine needles can accumulate quickly and require regular blowing and maintenance. The back porch was blown off shortly before your stay, but unfortunately pine needles can fall again very rapidly. We appreciate you bringing the small patio board issue to our attention so it can be addressed promptly. We strive to keep the property well maintained and are always working to stay ahead of outdoor conditions that are sometimes beyond immediate control. Thank you again for staying with us.

It’s great to know that the minimal décor helped keep things safe for your kids. We also appreciate your suggestion about adding more seating in the living room. We’ll definitely keep that in mind as we look for ways to make the space even more comfortable for larger groups. Regarding the floors, we clean and mop thoroughly between every guest. However, we’ve found that allowing shoes indoors can sometimes lead to dirt accumulating more quickly, which can be noticeable on bare feet. While we don't require guests to remove shoes (since that wouldn't work for everyone), we acknowledge that the only way to fully prevent this issue would be to enforce a no-shoes policy for all guests. We try to strike a balance to accommodate everyone's preferences, but we understand your concern and appreciate your understanding.
